Job description

Our client, a well capitalized and highly respected real estate investment firm in South Florida-based with a multibillions-dollar portfolio, wishes to add a senior attorney to its lean, sophisticated legal team. This is a rare opportunity to move in-house at a high level into a deeply active real estate investment platform with a long-term mindset and strong alignment between business and legal stakeholders. We are partnering directly with the General Counsel and Head of HR on this search after successfully having placed two lawyers onto this team in the past 18 months. The role will focus primarily on joint ventures, acquisitions, and development projects across multiple asset classes. You will be supporting high-value, complex transactions alongside a high-performing legal team and business leaders. The legal department is tightly integrated into the investment process and is seen as a strategic partner, not a back-office function, throughout the lifecycle of transactions and operations. The successful candidate will play a key role supporting the firm’s investment, development, acquisition, disposition, and financing activities, while partnering cross-functionally with stakeholders across the platform.

  • Base annual salary over $300K, plus eligibility for a six-figure performance bonus to take total annual compensation north of $550K.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial real estate agreements, including joint venture, acquisition, disposition, development, leasing, and financing documents;
  • Provide legal support and strategic counsel on complex real estate transactions and ongoing operational matters;
  • Advise internal stakeholders on transaction structuring, risk allocation, and legal considerations related to investments and developments;
  • Coordinate and manage legal due diligence processes for acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects;
  • Partner closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams across the organization; and
  • Assist with outside counsel management and support broader legal and compliance initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and bar admission in good standing;
  • 7+ years of relevant commercial real estate experience handling complex transactions, including joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, development, and financing matters;
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate law and transactional practice;
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; and
  • Collaborative, business-minded approach with the ability to work effectively across legal and non-legal teams.

If you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
