ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED
  • 1. Responsible for monthly invoice payments.
  • 2. Approves expense reports.
  • 3. Assists in closing Merit financial records.
  • 4. Processes sales tax returns.
  • 5. Assists in researching and solving problem accounts.
  • 6. Prepares month end reports for use by the department in month-end balancing.
  • 7. Works with other employees to assist them in completing projects and tasks within the department.
  • 8. Performs a variety of other accounting tasks, as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalency.
  • A minimum of one year of responsible accounting experience.
  • A broad knowledge of accounting and financial control principles and their business applications.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in performing accounting tasks.
  • Demonstrated human relations and effective written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, preferably spreadsheet, word processing database, and other applicable software programs.
