Job Profile
Job Summary
EMS Dispatch Supervisor leads on supervising dispatchers for Harris Health System ambulances between facilities for patients via ambulance, van or wheelchair lift. They lead on managing resources to meet patient needs and ensure patients are being dispatched safely. EMS Dispatch Supervisor manages the dispatch center to ensure efficient processes, and effective cost and budget management while maintaining complete compliance with Harris Health System procedures, policies and practices. EMS Dispatch Supervisor leads on training new and existing employees and will provide ongoing educations, supervising and management of daily operations and productivity.
Minimum Qualifications
Degrees: High School Diploma / GED
Licenses & Certification:
Emergency Medical Dispatch or (IAMTCS) International Association of Medical Transport Communication Specialist or equivalent related required within one (1) year of employment.
Emergency Medical Tech - Basic; must be obtained within 1 year of hire
Texas Driver License preferred
Emergency Medical Tech Paramedic preferred
Work Experience: Two (2) years of experience any equivalent combination of College education and/or experience in related field
Management Experience: One (1) year of management experience.
Communication Skills: Above average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact), Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking), Writing/ Correspondence, Writing/ Reports
Language Skills: Spanish, Vietnamese, Bilingual Skills preferred
Proficiencies: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook, PC
