Job description

Position Summary: The Laboratory & Quality Control Manager organizes and directs the daily activities of the laboratory and quality control. Responsible for supervising laboratory activities, conducting and overseeing quality assurance, quality control, collecting, analyzing, and interpreting lab results.


The Laboratory & Quality Control Manager is considered a working manager with little authority for personnel actions and will work as equals with the following managers: Toll Blending Manager, Production Manager, Logistics Manager. Driver Dispatch Manager, and the Customer Service Manager as well as oversee QC Lab Technician. Assist with the wastewater treatment program. Create Certificates of Analysis for all blended and purchased products Performing detailed quality analysis (per customer requirement) and recorded inspections of final products to ensure products are up to industry and company standards.


Primary Functions:

-Implement methods to inspect, test, and evaluate products manufactured and purchased by Viking Chemical.

-Ensure that products adhere to quality standards set forth by Viking Customers and Viking specifications.

-Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data - Training and managing production line staff in production practices and quality assessment of goods.

-Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct.

-Performing detailed quality analysis (per customer requirement) and recorded inspections of final products to ensure products are up to industry and company standards.

-Create and perform quality procedures and testing for incoming and outgoing materials.

-Create Certificates of Analysis for all blended and purchased products.

-Help create Safety Data Sheets.

-Help develop and review production and blending procedures.

-Review new SKU’s added to Viking inventory.

-Perform sampling and testing of wastewater.

-Assist with the wastewater treatment program.

-Test all incoming Q area material and report the disposition of the material.

-Monitor and report on Q area inventory.

-The individual will sit on the Continual Improvement Committee (CIF).
