3rd Shift Route Scheduler / Dispatcher

Location: V. Marchese
Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Alternative schedules may be considered: 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM or 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dependable 3rd Shift Route Scheduler / Dispatcher to oversee overnight routing operations for a busy transportation and delivery fleet. This role is responsible for coordinating and optimizing delivery schedules, supporting drivers, monitoring fleet activity, and ensuring operational efficiency for approximately 70 delivery vehicles, including 2 semi tractor-trailers.

The ideal candidate has hands-on transportation dispatch experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to make real-time routing decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Review, edit, and optimize nightly delivery routes using current routing systems, including Produce Pro and Google platforms

· Coordinate and schedule deliveries for a fleet of approximately 70 trucks, including straight trucks and semi tractor-trailers

· Monitor route progress and adjust schedules as needed to ensure timely and efficient deliveries

· Maintain driver schedules and assist with approving time-off requests based on operational needs

· Utilize ELD systems to monitor driver activity, truck locations, and hours-of-service compliance

· Communicate with drivers, warehouse staff, and management regarding routing changes, delays, and operational updates

· Assist in maintaining a safe and operational leased fleet by identifying vehicle issues and reporting concerns to the leasing company and management team

· Monitor refrigerated truck units and report mechanical or temperature-control issues when identified

· Safely operate straight trucks as needed to assist with vehicle movement on company property

· Support overnight transportation operations while maintaining high standards of customer service, safety, and efficiency

Qualifications

· Previous experience in transportation dispatching, route scheduling, or fleet coordination required

· Real-world understanding of routing and scheduling deliveries for a high-volume fleet operation

· Experience using routing software and dispatch systems, including Produce Pro and Google-based tools preferred

· Working knowledge of ELD systems and DOT compliance requirements

· Basic understanding of refrigerated truck units and common operational issues

· Ability to confidently operate straight trucks on-site

· Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills

· Ability to work independently during overnight shifts in a fast-paced environment

· Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
