As a Dispatcher, you will be the hub that keeps every route running on time, coordinating route sequencing, keeping drivers informed of changes in real time, and serving as a first point of contact for customers and team members alike. This role suits candidates with prior dispatch experience as well as motivated new applicants who are organized, calm under pressure, and ready to learn a fast-paced, team-oriented operation.

Responsibilities

  • Sequences and dispatches routes to keep drivers on schedule.
  • Communicates route changes to drivers in real time.
  • Checks drivers in and out to support a positive start and route completion.
  • Answers phones and greets incoming employees.
  • Answers customer calls and provides first level service.
  • Provides administrative support for special projects and other tasks as assigned.
  • Works with the team to ensure accurate information and superior customer service.
  • Communicates clearly with team members in person and by phone.
  • This position works Monday through Friday, with start times between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM; additional hours may be needed based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Dispatch experience preferred; motivated candidates without direct experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations required.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks while positively motivating, coaching, and communicating clear instructions to others.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Regularly sits for extended periods while using a phone, radio, and dispatch software.
  • Frequent use of a computer and phone for extended periods.
  • Occasionally stands and walks within the office to communicate with drivers and staff checking in and out.
  • Work is performed primarily in an office or dispatch center environment.
  • May require early morning, evening, or extended hours based on business needs.
