Advanced Office Systems is a leading provider of office technology solutions in the Baton Rouge market for over 45 years, specializing in copiers, printers, and managed print services. We are seeking a Service Manager to lead our 20-person technician team and continue the high level of performance and customer satisfaction that defines our company. AOS is a family-owned company


Position Overview

The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing daily service operations, managing field technicians, and ensuring efficient, profitable service delivery. This role is highly hands-on and requires strong leadership, operational awareness, and the ability to support both your team and customers in real time.

This is a key leadership position that directly impacts customer retention, team morale, and company profitability.


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of field service technicians
  • Maintain strong communication and connection with technicians in the field
  • Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable
  • Recognize strong performance and foster a positive team culture
  • Ensure technicians remain productive and well-supported


Service Operations & Dispatch Management

  • Manage daily dispatch operations to maximize efficiency and response time
  • Monitor and adjust technician schedules throughout the day
  • Ensure technicians have clear plans and priorities
  • Provide real-time support for field issues and escalation situations


Inventory & Parts Management

  • Oversee parts and supplies inventory, including min/max levels
  • Manage technician car stock and reduce obsolete inventory
  • Ensure accurate labeling, organization, and tracking of all inventory
  • Oversee incoming shipments for accuracy and condition
  • Maintain organized warehouse environments


Equipment & Asset Management

  • Manage equipment inventory for sale and rental
  • Determine disposition of returned or trade-in equipment
  • Ensure equipment is properly configured prior to delivery
  • Coordinate equipment movements and availability with internal teams


Reporting & Performance Management

  • Track and report key service metrics including customer satisfaction and service efficiency
  • Review technician performance data and identify issues (e.g., meter accuracy, productivity trends)
  • Run profitability and service history reports to support leadership and sales team
  • Assist with service pricing, contract renewals, and profitability analysis


Customer & Sales Support

  • Support sales team with equipment prep, service analysis, and pre-sale coordination
  • Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded
  • Manage recurring service requirements for key accounts


Compliance, Safety & Administration

  • Ensure safety programs, training, and compliance requirements are met
  • Oversee company vehicle usage, maintenance, and documentation
  • Maintain organized records, systems, and documentation
  • Assist with facility-related responsibilities when needed


Operational Support

  • Fill in operational gaps as they arise
  • Provide backup support across service, warehouse, and admin functions
  • Ensure internal communication flows effectively between departments
