Job description

Join a fast-paced, high-impact operation where precision, timing, and teamwork drive success. We are seeking a hands-on Transportation Manager to lead and execute all transportation and dispatch operations across our New York airline catering unit.

About DO & CO

We have a passion for hospitality culinary delights on every elevated floor and in the sky. With our three business segments, Airline Catering, International Event Catering, Restaurants, Lounges & Hotels, we offer gourmet entertainment all over the world. We operate in 33 locations, 12 countries and 3 Continents, maintaining the highest standard of quality in both our products and services. We refine the classics, develop the unknown and grow constantly – sometimes beyond our own expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead end-to-end transportation and dispatch operations across a high-volume flight schedule.
  • Drive on-time performance (OTP) while meeting strict airline service level agreements.
  • Oversee dispatch planning, routing, and load coordination to ensure accurate and timely flight coverage.
  • Act as the central point of coordination between dispatch, kitchen production, ramp teams, and airline partners.
  • Provide hands-on, real-time leadership on the floor and ramp—this is not a desk role.
  • Manage aircraft catering operations including uplifts, offloads, equipment swaps, and last-minute changes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve delays, service failures, equipment issues, and staffing gaps in real time.
  • Ensure safe and accurate loading and unloading of catering trucks and aircraft.
  • Monitor and improve key performance metrics including OTP, dispatch accuracy, and service reliability.
  • Identify trends, investigate issues, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, service quality, and execution.
  • Maintain high standards of product integrity, handling, and delivery accuracy.
  • Lead and develop teams of dispatchers, CDL & non-CDL drivers, supervisors, and ramp staff.
  • Build a high-performance, accountable culture focused on safety, urgency, and service excellence.
  • Provide visible leadership across all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Drive training in CDL compliance, ramp safety, dispatch accuracy, and operational SOPs.
  • Ensure compliance with TSA/SIDA, DOT, OSHA, NY CDL regulations, FMCSA Clearinghouse, and Port Authority (PANYNJ) requirements.
  • Oversee fleet operations, maintenance, labor planning, and cost control, ensuring operational readiness and efficiency.
  • Partner with airline stakeholders (e.g., Delta, FSM) to ensure alignment on service expectations and operational performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Aviation Management, Business Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in transportation, logistics, airline catering, or aviation operations.
  • Strong experience managing dispatch operations and frontline teams.
  • Proven ability to lead in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Transportation & dispatch logistics
    • Ramp and airport operations
    • Fleet and safety compliance
  • Hands-on leader with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with CDL compliance, DOT regulations, and safety programs.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in airport and/or union environments (preferred).
  • Proficient computer skills (Particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • All airport-related positions require applicants to successfully complete the mandatory airport security clearance process for their assigned location. This includes meeting all TSA and U.S. Customs requirements, as outlined in 49 CFR §1542.209, and obtaining the appropriate airport-issued identification badge (e.g., SIDA, AOA, or equivalent), in accordance with local airport authority regulations.
  • Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.

What We Offer:

  • Salary: $110,000 – $130,000 annually.
  • Daily Complimentary Meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).
  • FT employees are eligible for 401K and medical benefits: medical, dental, and vision.
  • An organization dedicated to fostering innovation; in pursuit of cultivating creativity, embracing new ideas and leveraging our impeccable standard for hospitality.
  • Genuine career development opportunities, both nationally and internationally.
  • The chance to collaborate and represent a leading force in the luxury global gourmet entertainment industry by attending world-class events.
