Job Title: Dispatch – Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) (Full-Time, On-Site)

Pay: $55,000-$65,000 (Negotiable Based on Experience)
Location: Canton, OH, On-Site
Department: Operations
Reports To: Dispatch Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and organized Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Dispatcher to join our dispatch organization. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the driving team, ensuring timely and efficient transportation for clients to and from medical appointments. You will work closely with drivers, broker providers, and clients to guarantee exceptional service delivery while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day dispatch operations, ensuring vehicles are assigned efficiently, schedules are met, and client transport is safe, reliable, and punctual.
  • Coordination with Drivers: Ensure drivers are well-informed about their routes, client needs, and any special requirements (e.g., wheelchair access, oxygen). Monitor driver performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Scheduling & Routing: Develop and maintain daily transportation schedules for clients. Optimize routes to minimize delays, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
  • Customer Service & Problem Resolution: Provide documentation related to client inquiries, resolve issues related to transportation, and provide data/documentation regarding/relating to client complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all transportation services comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including client privacy (HIPAA), vehicle safety, and proper documentation.
  • Data Management & Reporting: Track and report transportation data, including on-time performance, vehicle utilization, and incident reports.
  • Technology & Software Management: Utilize transportation management software to schedule, track, and manage all transportation activities.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years previous Dispatch or Logistics Experience, REQUIRED
  • Previous experience in NEMT or Healthcare Transportation, preferred.
  • Strong Organizational & Time Management Skills: Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with drivers, clients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Local Area & Routes: Familiarity with local roads, traffic patterns, and efficient route planning.
  • Proficiency with Technology: Experience with dispatching software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Knowledge of NEMT Regulations: Familiarity with regulations regarding client transport and vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to Handle Stress: Capable of working under pressure and maintaining a calm, professional demeanor in challenging situations.
  • Valid Driver’s License (required).


Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position; may require working some holidays
  • 45 hours per week
  • Working 1 Saturday each month
