Overview

AIT is seeking a Dispatcher III! We are flexible on start time, if needed along with extra hours to be earned on the weekends, if applicable.

The Dispatcher III is responsible for overseeing and documenting the pickup and delivery of local shipments, as well as coordinating and communicating shipment information between drivers and delivery agents.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for routing local freight, dispatching drivers, performing dock checks, tracking shipments, working with dock staff members to ensure movement of freight.
  • Timely event data entry of shipment milestones into MyAIT & AS400 tracking system - pickup, delivery, obtain proof of delivery.
  • Provide customer service to identify and meet specific customer needs. Answer/make customer inquiry calls and address customer concerns/complaints.
  • Assign driver load planning based on local mapping & appointments accordingly.
  • Identifying and coordinating the prioritization of rushed/urgent/last minute shipments.
  • Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary.
  • The wage range for this position is $29.00-$35.90 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.

Other Skills We Hope to See:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalency required; Associate Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 5-7 years in Freight Forwarding industry experience preferred and/or industry experience in customer service/operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Previous Experience working with AS400 preferred.
  • Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills with abilities to develop new ideas and innovative solutions.
  • High attention to details and organization.
  • Strong geographic and mapping skills. Sense of direction and coordination to build routes.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills with customers, drivers, and co-workers-communication is key!
