What you'll be working on:
Supports Savers vision by coordinating the daily activities of a team of drivers operating trucks for a route collection program. Dispatchers help direct the collection of donations as well as the delivery of donations to Savers stores in the most efficient manner. Dispatchers are also responsible for collecting all of the daily route data and entering the data in the information management system.
  • Operate computer-aided communications and dispatching equipment
  • Assist with setting up the daily routes and assignments
  • Communicate add-ons and cancellations to drivers
  • Understand local streets and help drivers, when needed, complete routes and any other assigned stops efficiently through verbal communication
  • Assist drivers with unexpected situations at donor's homes
  • Document driver start times, ending times, breaks, lunches and estimated pick-ups
  • Process and transmit information and instructions
  • Schedule assignments and coordinate activities of drivers
  • Act as liaison between donors, drivers, dispatch personnel according to schedules and work orders
  • Follow up on issues with donor pick-ups
  • Account for all of the driver's daily paperwork
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 - 2 years prior work experience in distribution, logistics, customer service or call center helpful
  • Knowledge and Experience with Business Equipment and Computer Applications: General office equipment, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), search tools, map tools and other information management systems
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, state and Savers safety regulations and requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk and speak
