Job description

About Us

We are a locally owned and operated Amazon Delivery Service Partner based in the Metro Detroit area. We run a fleet of delivery vehicles and a team of professional Delivery Associates completing thousands of deliveries every week. Were a company built on continuous improvement, operating efficiently, and rolling out change the right way clearly, professionally, and with our teams buy-in.

The Role

Were looking for an Operations Manager to work alongside our General Manager and ownership team. This is a hands-on leadership role: youll run the day-to-day operation, lead a team of drivers and dispatchers, own performance metrics, and help drive hiring and strategic improvements across the business. If you like solving problems in real time, coaching people, and seeing your decisions show up in the numbers, this role is for you.

What Youll Do

  • Lead daily delivery operations: route launch, dispatch oversight, driver check-ins, and end-of-day close-out
  • Supervise and develop a support team of dispatchers/openers/closers and a roster of Delivery Associates
  • Support recruiting and hiring: screening candidates, conducting interviews, and coordinating onboarding with our HR partner
  • Monitor and improve performance metrics (safety, delivery quality, customer feedback, attendance) using Amazons DSP scorecard
  • Operate and manage core systems including the Amazon DSP portal, Amazon Flex, Netradyne (driver safety), Geotab (fleet tracking), and ADP
  • Coordinate fleet readiness: vehicle assignments, inspections (DVIC), maintenance scheduling, and rental coordination
  • Coach drivers on safety and delivery standards; document and follow up on incidents professionally and consistently
  • Partner with the General Manager on staffing plans, capacity planning, and process improvements
  • Communicate clearly and positively with the team when rolling out changes explaining the why, not just the what

What Were Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, delivery, transportation, or operations management (last-mile or Amazon DSP experience strongly preferred)
  • 2+ years leading teams hiring, scheduling, coaching, and holding people accountable with respect
  • Comfortable learning and running operational software; experience with Amazon DSP tools, Netradyne, or Geotab is a plus
  • Strong communication skills able to motivate an energetic team and deliver tough feedback constructively
  • Data-driven mindset: you read a scorecard, find the trend, and act on it
  • Valid drivers license and a driving record that meets company insurance requirements
  • Availability for early mornings, and flexibility for occasional weekends/holidays as the operation requires
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen, conducted in accordance with applicable law

Physical Requirements (Essential Functions)

This role is based in an active delivery station environment. Essential functions include standing and walking for extended periods, occasionally lifting packages up to 50 lbs, and moving safely around vehicles and loading areas. Reasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Michigans Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act.

What We Offer

  • $65,000 annual salary
  • Performance-based incentive opportunities
  • Paid time off
  • A leadership team that invests in improvement yours and the companys
  • Clear growth path in a growing operation (were absorbing new delivery territory)

Schedule

Full-time. Primary schedule is early morning through mid-afternoon, aligned to route launch and dispatch operations. Some flexibility required during peak season and coverage situations.

Equal Opportunity Employer

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age, disability, height, weight, marital status, veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law, including the Michigan Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act.

Employment with the Company is at-will. This job posting describes the general nature of the role and is not an exhaustive list of duties; responsibilities may be adjusted to meet business needs. The Company is an independently owned and operated business that contracts with Amazon; employees are employed solely by the Company, not by Amazon. The employers identity will be disclosed to candidates selected for interviews.
