Operations Supervisor
Onsite, Maywood, IL | Full-Time | Salaried (Exempt)
Typical schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Aetna Building Solutions is looking for an experienced operations professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. As our Operations Supervisor, you'll work side-by-side with the Operations Manager, gaining hands-on experience across every aspect of our branch while preparing for future site leadership opportunities.
This is more than a traditional supervisor role, it's a leadership development position designed for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and learning the business from the ground up. You'll gain exposure to warehouse operations, production, inventory, dispatch, customer support, and facilities while helping ensure our Maywood location operates safely and efficiently every day.
What You'll Do
  • Partner with the Operations Manager to support the day-to-day operation of the branch.
  • Step in to oversee daily operations when the Operations Manager is unavailable.
  • Help coordinate warehouse, production, inventory, dispatch, and shipping activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and workflow.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales, Purchasing, Product Management, and other departments to support customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and operational planning.
  • Support a strong culture of workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Build the knowledge and leadership skills needed to become a future site leader.
What We're Looking For
  • 4–6 years of progressive experience in warehouse, distribution, or operations.
  • Previous experience in a lead, supervisory, or acting management role is preferred.
  • Building materials, lumber, industrial distribution, or wholesale experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working across warehouse, office, production, and dispatch functions.
  • Experience using ERP/WMS systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse safety practices; familiarity with DOT regulations is preferred.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Operations, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
Compensation amp; Benefits Include
  • $65,000 - $75,000 per year. Compensation is based on job experience, skills, education, training, and more to be determined at time of offer.
