Main responsibilities:

Shaw’s Distribution Center, a proud member of the Albertsons Companies family, is seeking a Department Specialist to provide administrative and operational support to the Transportation/Dispatch department. This role is responsible for supporting daily dispatch activities, reviewing routing and transportation data, preparing and maintaining reports, managing departmental documentation, and responding to internal and external inquiries. The position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with data and reporting, and the ability to work effectively within established guidelines and procedures.

  • Answer department phones as needed and respond to customer and internal inquiries, including store location and transportation-related questions

  • Review transportation and routing information and support dispatch assignment decisions within well-defined guidelines and parameters

  • Examine, prioritize, and process documents to determine appropriate actions and ensure timely completion of work

  • Collect and compile data for department reports, including cube utilization, mileage, and other transportation metrics

  • Create, maintain, and update complex transportation and operational reports

  • Sort, file, maintain invoices, receipts and other departmental records in accordance with company policies

  • Compile minor statistical data and perform routine one- and two-step mathematical calculations

  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and mailings using keyboarding and office software tools

  • Check own work and departmental information for accuracy and completeness

  • Coordinate special programs, projects, or events as assigned

  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws

  • Relevant administrative, dispatch, or transportation support experience preferred

  • Routing experience with CAMS software preferred

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient reading, writing, communication, and math skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
