Job Description:

ESPN NFL Media is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Seasonal Production Assistant to join the NFL GameDay Morning team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on one of the industry's premier live NFL studio shows while gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of sports television production.

The ideal candidate is passionate about the NFL, thrives in a fast-paced live production environment, and possesses strong editorial instincts, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Support Producers, Associate Producers, Production Managers, Talent, and Editors in the daily production of NFL GameDay Morning.
  • Assist with the creation and execution of daily show content, including highlights, teases, features, and promotional elements.
  • Work directly with editors to produce video elements, music montages, and B-roll packages.
  • Operate the teleprompter during live studio productions.
  • Research current NFL news, statistics, historical information, and storylines to support editorial planning.
  • Monitor live games, press conferences, team practices, league news, and social media for breaking news and editorial opportunities.
  • Prepare production materials, scripts, rundowns, and supporting documentation for live broadcasts.
  • Coordinate video, graphics, and editorial requests across multiple production departments.
  • Assist with locating, logging, and organizing video and sound for show elements.
  • Pitch creative ideas for show segments, interviews, and editorial content during production meetings.
  • Perform additional production-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Broadcasting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 0-3 years of experience in television, digital media, or live sports production.
  • Strong knowledge of the NFL, including current players, teams, coaches, league news, and history.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude with a collaborative, team-first approach.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in live television or sports production.
  • Familiarity with newsroom systems such as ENPS or similar production software.
  • Basic experience with non-linear editing systems such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Avid Media Composer.
  • Working knowledge of broadcast graphics workflows and television production processes.
  • Experience conducting editorial research for live programming.

Physical & Work Environment

Schedule & Availability
  • Seasonal employment for up to seven (7) months, based on business needs.
  • Typical work schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, approximately 40+ hours per week.
  • Monday and Tuesday are generally scheduled days off but may vary based on production requirements.
  • Sunday call times are typically 3:00 a.m. PT.
  • Must be available to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during the NFL season.
  • Overtime may be available when approved by the direct supervisor
The pay rate for this role in Inglewood, CA is $24.04 per hour.
