Job Summary:

The Vice President, Disney Advertising Communications, part of Disney Entertainment Television, plays a key role in leading strategic external communications across Disney Advertising's sports, entertainment, and global addressable portfolio.

Reporting to the SVP, Communications - Ad Sales, this executive will play a critical role in shaping and advancing key narratives that reflect the complexity and scale of Disney's advertising business. The role will partner closely with Ad Sales leadership, ESPN, Disney Entertainment, Corporate Communications, and international teams to ensure alignment and consistency across high-visibility communications.

This position is part of a Communications structure designed to strengthen strategic storytelling, increase clarity of ownership, and support a fast-moving, high-profile business environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and execution of integrated communications strategies across sports, entertainment, and global addressable advertising.
  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior leadership across Ad Sales, Sports, Entertainment, and international teams.
  • Translate complex products, data-driven capabilities, and content partnerships into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Drive proactive media engagement across key trade, business, technology, and sports press.
  • Support executive visibility through speaking engagements, industry events, and thought leadership opportunities.
  • Oversee communications for tentpole events, rights announcements as they relate to ad sales, product launches, measurement innovation and global marketplace initiatives.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications, ESPN, Disney Entertainment, international regions and product/teach teams to ensure alignment and consistency.
  • Lead issues management and crisis communications related to sports, live events, distribution, rights, and global advertising matters.
  • Develop and guide high-impact communications materials, including press releases, talking points, and executive messaging.
  • Contribute to a more proactive and insight-driven storytelling approach that reflects evolving business priorities

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Experience leading external communications within a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business strategies and products into clear messaging.
  • Established relationships with media across trade, business, technology, and/or sports sectors.
  • Experience supporting senior executives on communications strategy and visibility.
  • Proven experience in issues management and crisis communications.
  • Strong writing, editorial, and strategic communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in advertising and ad tech, media, sports, entertainment.
  • Familiarity with global markets and cross-regional communications.
  • Experience supporting communications tied to sports rights, distribution, or live events.
  • Ability to partner effectively across corporate, product, and regional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $259,600 - $348,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
