Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: eDiscovery Project Manager

STATUS: Exempt


SUMMARY: Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures of the Litigation Strategic Business Unit Manager or their designee and the Paralegal Leadership Team, the eDiscovery Project Manager will perform a variety of duties specific to litigation support. Duties include organizing and preparing client matter information for submission to the appropriate eDiscovery platforms and assisting with administrative and litigation preparation. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients and legal teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with legal and technical requirements.


The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills with eDiscovery expertise, excellent communication skills, internally and externally, and the ability to manage multiple sensitive matters in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.


This position is exempt.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Manage the full eDiscovery lifecycle, including identification, preservation, collection, processing, review, production, and post-production support.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and workflows in collaboration with attorneys, paralegals and other related stakeholders.
  • Act as primary point of contact for eDiscovery consultation. Provide guidance regarding eDiscovery services and data management activities including, but not limited to, data collection, volume reduction services, data ingestion and processing, data analytics, and document review.
  • Ensure data quality, defensibility, and adherence to court rules, ESI protocols, and production specifications. Provide regular status updates, metrics, and reporting to clients and leadership.
  • Coordinate with vendors on collections, hosting, processing, review staffing, and specialized services.
  • Identify costโ€‘saving opportunities and process efficiencies without compromising quality or defensibility.
  • Maintain time entry for all billable time, if applicable.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance with clients, attorneys, and anyone associated with a specific client matter.
  • Follow all personnel policies and procedures of the Firm.
  • Maintain an 8:30 โ€“ 5:00 daily schedule Monday through Friday, unless alternate schedule is pre-approved. Work may occasionally require more than 37.5 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position; may require irregular hours from time to time.


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to work with all portable document format (PDF) applications.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals throughout the Firm to ensure best practices are applied across the Firm.
  • Work with the paralegal leadership team to ensure projects are on track and completed in a timely fashion.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience with eDiscovery, Relativity and document review management.
  • Full understanding of the end-to-end EDRM process to assist in custom workflows.
  • Strong understanding of review workflows, analytics tools, and performance monitoring dashboards.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets to inform strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Some travel may be required, including the possibility of overnight stays.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with the team and clients. Willingness to own mistakes and work towards progress.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires sitting for the majority of the workday. May lift up to 5 โ€“ 10 lbs.
