Principal Developer Advocate

NimbleWay

San Francisco, CA โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Posted 13 days ago

Job description

We're looking for Nimble's first Principal Developer Advocate to build and lead our Developer Relations function.

Your mission is to help AI developers discover, adopt, and successfully build with Nimble.

You'll own the developer motion end-to-endโ€”from creating technical content and demo applications, to engaging developer communities, launching integrations, speaking at conferences, and helping establish Nimble as a trusted name within the AI ecosystem.

This is a highly visible role at the intersection of engineering, product, marketing, and community.

Responsibilities:

What you can expect during your day-to-day

Most of your time:

  • Strategize on new initiatives, campaigns, and messaging. You'll be leading the Developer Advocacy function at Nimble.
  • Building apps (and integrations with other platforms) to solve interesting use cases using Nimble's AI Search tool and Web Search Agents, and sharing them with the developer community on platforms like X, Discord, Github, and others
  • Creating high-quality content, from thought leadership to hands-on tutorials and examples

Regularly:

  • Attending developer-centric events and confidently speaking in front of large technical audiences
  • Providing feedback on Nimble's product, documentation, and storytelling

As needed:

  • Working with tech influencers and thought leaders to evangelize Nimble's story

๏ปฟHow weโ€™ll measure your success at Nimble together

  • 30 days: You've shipped your first demo app using Nimble's tools, published your first piece of content, and can articulate our developer journey end-to-end.
  • 60 days: Content is driving measurable traffic to docs and signup. You've identified the top 3 friction points in our developer onboarding and proposed fixes for them.
  • 90 days: You own a repeatable content and community engine with clear attribution to developer signups. Time-to-first-API-call is trending down for developers coming through your channels.

About us:

Our mission is to equip AI agents, development teams, and BI teams with reliable, accurate, and verifiable web data they can trust.

Demand for live web data is surging to make AI systems smarter, but current web data retrieval methods consistently provide inaccurate information or incomplete data, which directly impacts the quality of AI outputs.

Nimble makes it easy for AI agents and dev/data teams to access live web data in a reliable, controllable, and trustworthy way:

  • Semantic search: Nimble understands the intent of search queries and deploys Web Search Agents that navigate websites to locate and capture the exact information your AI needs.
  • Controllable search workflow: define repeatable web search and data processing steps to capture and stream clean, structured data.
  • Real-time web data: rather than creating our own ranked index, Nimble searches live web data to capture quickly changing information in dynamic websites.

With a more reliable way to access trustworthy web data, AI systems can produce more accurate results, and the promise of AI can be realized in a safer and more productive way.

Requirements:
  • Strong, well-reasoned opinions on how AI should be deployed in a productive, reliable, and responsible way
  • 5+ years of experience in developer relations, software engineering, or sales engineering
  • Deep understanding of developer psychology, community dynamics, and what makes technical products beloved by builders
  • Hands-on experience building AI agents using modern AI tooling and ecosystems such as LangChain, Cursor, v0, BaseTen, and similar platforms
  • Proven experience creating content for developers across blogs, videos, podcasts, social posts, and other channels
  • Someone who can build their brand, and Nimbleโ€™s, independently and collaborate with other DevlRel orgs
