SUMMARY:
Candidates for the Teacher position should be able to demonstrate instructional expertise in a variety of courses related to the desired subject area and to collaborate effectively with academic leadership and faculty to design instruction that is coherent, purposeful, and engaging. As a Classical Christian academy, we seek candidates willing to learn how to incorporate the classical trivium into their instructional methods.
We believe the truth of scripture provides the framework through which all of reality can be understood. In concert with all other areas of school life, our academic program prepares students to grow as lovers of God who seek truth, serve others, and steward creation and culture. We are committed to providing an environment that meets each student at their unique point of need and equips them for pursuit of their full, God-given potential. We seek teachers who are committed to the development and discipleship of the whole child, both within and outside of the classroom. Co-curricular expectations include student life activities.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Demonstrate instructional expertise in various courses related to the desired subject area
  • Collaborate effectively with academic leadership and faculty to design instruction that is coherent, purposeful, engaging, and follows the Classical model
  • Plan lessons and develop curriculum to help students master essential techniques and concepts
  • Assess, track, and communicate student progress
  • Performs related duties, as assigned by Supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Demonstrated personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion to help others follow Jesus
  • Knowledge of Scripture and its application to all of life, particularly pedagogy, school community, and related disciplines
  • A Bachelor's degree with focus in subject area or related discipline
  • Three years of demonstrated, effective teaching experience
  • Ability to collaborate well with colleagues in all areas of education including planning, assessment, student care, and student life
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of learners
  • Understanding of and ability to meet the discipleship and developmental needs of students in corresponding grade levels with the position
  • Experience in the use of technology for instruction
  • Ability to communicate graciously and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to exercise discretion and utmost professionalism in confidential and sensitive student/family matters
  • Highly motivated and energized individual with strong initiative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
