Senior SAP Basis Consultant
Location: Jackson, MS
Duration: 1 year

Job Description:
Supporting a wide range of business processes including financial management, procurement, grants management,
and enterprise reporting. The financial, procurement, and grants management modules of MAGIC have been in full
production since 2015 and represent a mature and mission-critical environment.
 
In addition to maintaining and optimizing the current SAP on-premise infrastructure, the consultant will be instrumental
in supporting the State’s ongoing digital transformation initiative.
This includes the migration of legacy systems to a modern, cloud-based architecture hosted on Microsoft Azure.
The SAP BASIS Consultant will work across both environments, ensuring system stability, performance, security, and scalability as MAGIC continues to evolve.
 
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Performing day-to-day SAP BASIS administration tasks, including system monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, patching,
and upgrades.

2 Supporting SAP systems hosted on-premise as well as those transitioning to or running within the Azure cloud platform.
3Collaborating with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to plan and execute system migrations, integrations, and cloud optimizations.
4 Ensuring compliance with security standards, backup procedures, and disaster recovery requirements.
5 Assisting with performance analysis and capacity planning to support growth and long-term sustainability.
6 This position requires a high level of technical expertise in SAP BASIS administration, experience with cloud
infrastructure (preferably Microsoft Azure), and a strong understanding of ERP systems in a public sector environment
Five years’ experience with SAP BASIS administration and technical core tasks including SAP software installation, upgrade, support packages, patches, workload analysis, system error analysis, performance monitoring, and maintenance of multi-landscape environments.
Two years’ experience working with an SAP operational system for a Public Sector client.
9 Two years’ experience with Linux/DB2 and Windows/MSSQL.
10 One year experience with Azure cloud computing platform.
