Disaster Recovery Analyst (Business Analyst II)
St. Louis, MO
Hybrid role
$40 - $45 per hour
ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a highly visible Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery team supporting one of the nation's largest telecommunications organizations. As a Disaster Recovery Analyst (Business Analyst II), you will play a key role in ensuring the operational resilience of critical business applications during both planned and unplanned outages. Reporting to the Disaster Recovery Team, you will collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams, and technology leadership to develop, maintain, and validate disaster recovery strategies. This position is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, process improvement, and stakeholder management. You will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact on large-scale, business-critical initiatives as the organization expands its application portfolio through major enterprise integration efforts.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Partner with application owners and technical teams to develop, document, and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and risk assessments to identify recovery gaps and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate and facilitate disaster recovery testing activities, validate recovery procedures, and document results for continuous improvement
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and application teams to support disaster recovery readiness
  • Analyze application dependencies, recovery objectives, and operational risks across enterprise systems
  • Support the administration and continuous improvement of disaster recovery governance, documentation, and planning tools
  • Facilitate meetings, drive action items, and ensure disaster recovery initiatives remain on schedule across multiple stakeholders
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 5+ years of experience in Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Business Analysis, IT Project Coordination, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills with the ability to work effectively across both technical and business teams
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure concepts including servers, networking, application environments, and enterprise IT operations
  • Experience with Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery planning methodologies and risk management best practices
  • Familiarity with ITSM and governance platforms such as ServiceNow, Cherwell, Fusion Framework, Archer, or similar tools
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives independently in a process-driven environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent professional experience; CBCP or other DR/BC certifications are a plus
