The Friendly Toast is a unique "all day brunch and bar" restaurant with an eclectic, scratch-made menu. While we may have a passion for mimosas and tots, we prioritize people and community over all else. We pride ourselves on our safe and healthy workplace and our "come as you are" mentality.
The Friendly Toast is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Ambassador (host) to join our team. As a Toast ambassador, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and responsible for creating a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for our customers.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve on the fly
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • A passion for food and willingness to learn about our menu offerings

Major Responsibilities:
  • Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of specials.
  • All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed our guests' expectations.
  • Take names on a waiting list.
  • Run the floor plan board.
  • Observes tables and keep track of clean, dirty and occupied tables.
  • Takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available.
  • Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area.
  • Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant.
  • Interacts with guests in and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience.
  • May be required to fill to go orders, if applicable.
  • Maintain restrooms throughout shift.
  • Other duties as directed.

Working Conditions
  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
  • Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operating phones, computers/iPads, printers, and other office equipment.
