USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is Hiring a Charge Entry Specialist Full Time

USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is a specialty inpatient hospital which was established to set a new standard for excellence and patient satisfaction in the delivery of orthopedic and spinal surgery. Arizona Specialty Hospital provides excellent patient services and the highest level of care, with the overall goal of improving the delivery of healthcare in Maricopa County and beyond.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Business Office Manager, the Charge Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately entering all charge entry data for surgery and imaging patients, ensuring the capture of all charges related to patient visits.

Duties primarily include:

· Use of Cerner or other automated systems; capturing accurate patient chargeable supplies, pharmaceuticals, OR Charges, PACU charges, and implant charges by comparing charge sheets to the medical record and reviewing the record for documentation with the submitted charges

· Ability to add specific data such as modifiers, payer specific information such as date of injury and CPT codes.

· Responsible for managing various revenue cycle related reporting such as volume and discrepancy and closing of charge batches across the system.

· Achieves departmental goals regarding charge entry in a timely manner and works to assure ethical compliance associated with charge capture.

· Will work with medical records and billing to maintain accurate records to facilitate valid reports regarding billing and collections.

· Adheres to hospital policies regarding time and attendance, punctuality, meal breaks, and rest periods.

· Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to hospital and department dress code at all times.

· Performs other duties commensurate with experience, assigned by the Business Office Manager.
