Afford's high-quality disability services are expanding under Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA), and we're looking for a Business Development Consultant to help grow meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability. This is a role where purpose and performance go hand in hand. You'll be out in the market building employer partnerships, creating real job opportunities, and supporting sustainable outcomes that genuinely change lives.

About the role:
Work across your allocated region to identify, develop and convert opportunities with disability-friendly employers
Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to connect people to meaningful, sustainable employment
Play a key role in driving employment outcomes under the IEA program

What you will do:
Develop and execute a targeted business development plan aligned to IEA outcomes
Identify and secure new employment opportunities for clients across your region
Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, community organisations and key stakeholders
Grow a portfolio of disability-inclusive employers
Provide post-placement support to employers to support sustainable outcomes
Work closely with Employment Consultants and wider teams to support placements and retention
Monitor and report on performance, including placements, engagement and market growth
Partner with Brand & Engagement to promote Afford's employment offering
Contribute to continuous improvement, compliance and quality service delivery

What you will bring:
Experience in business development, employer engagement or relationship management (ideally within disability, employment or human services)
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
Proven track record of generating and converting opportunities into outcomes
Understanding of government-funded employment programs such as Inclusive Employment Australia or similar
Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team environment
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Current driver's licence
