Position Summary

Crescent Constructors is seeking a Dirt Foreman to lead and manage a crew performing earthwork and site development activities on water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure projects. The Dirt Foreman is responsible for ensuring production goals are achieved, tracking material quantities, managing schedules, and maintaining safety and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, planning, and communication skills to effectively manage personnel, equipment, subcontractors, and project progress while supporting the successful delivery of water and wastewater construction projects.


What You'll Do

Plan and direct daily and weekly crew activities to meet production goals while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, and production cost reports to track progress and resolve discrepancies.

Manage earthwork operations, including excavation, grading, trenching, backfill, embankment construction, and site preparation for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Coordinate earthwork activities supporting treatment facilities, pump stations, underground utility installations, and related infrastructure.

Supervise and train crew members on safety procedures, production techniques, and equipment operation.

Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and team members to ensure project efficiency and accuracy.

Maintain accurate reports, including daily logs, timekeeping, material tracking, and equipment records.

Ensure safe operation of all equipment and enforce company safety policies through ongoing communication and accountability.

Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and environmental requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

What We're Looking For

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy civil, utility, water/wastewater, or site development construction required.

Proven supervisory experience required.

Knowledge of grading, excavation, trenching, backfill operations, and site development activities required.

Experience supporting water and wastewater treatment facility construction, underground utility installation, and related infrastructure projects preferred.

Experience with GPS, robotics, and other survey technologies preferred.

Strong organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Dependable, self-motivated, and task-oriented leader.

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions up to 90% of the time.

Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.

Experience with Mobile Timecard or similar systems preferred.

Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Must be licensed and approved to operate a company vehicle.

Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding and walk on uneven terrain across active construction sites.
