Job description

The Chanda Center for Health (the Center) is a non-profit organization in Lakewood, CO with a mission to improve the health and wellness of people living with long-term disabilities and reduce their associated healthcare costs. We believe that our participants have the right to create their own healthcare path, live independently, and be active members of the community. We deliver services and positive health outcomes through an integrative healthcare model including acupuncture, massage, chiropractic care, adaptive yoga, physical therapy, counseling, behavioral health, and care coordination.

We are looking for a Development Director responsible for planning and executing fundraising and donor development to support the Chanda Center for Health’s programs and operations. This role reports to the Executive Director, with close collaboration with our Senior Director of Development and other executive team members to build and maintain relationships with corporations, foundations, and individual donors to ensure long-term financial sustainability

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate regularly, together with the Senior Director of Development and executive leadership, on a development plan to support the organization’s strategic plan and to ensure steady growth and sustainability over the next five years.
  • Sustain and grow a donor portfolio (50 – 100) by cultivating new donor (corporate, individual, foundation) relationships and rejuvenating lapsed donors.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that expands philanthropic support, builds a sustainable donor and grant pipeline, and secures at least $250,000 in new funding during the initial growth phase, with the objective of scaling annual fundraising revenue to more than $500,000 over time.
  • Utilize customer relationship management (CRM) system and prepare reports to provide visibility into fundraising pipeline.
  • Collaborate with finance & development team to align fundraising activity with spending and organizational priorities, including revenue and expense budgets.
  • Analyze donor data to identify trends, forecast revenue, and track progress toward fundraising goals.
  • Support the execution of an annual gala and fundraising campaigns (including Colorado Gives Day), as well as recruiting new corporate sponsorships.
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Development and grant writer to identify new funding opportunities and review final proposal submissions within personal donor portfolio.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of five years of experience in successful fundraising and donor activities, including experience in major gifts, portfolio management, and donor relationship development
  • Established presence in the community, with a history of fostering meaningful relationships and partnerships
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and public speaking skills to share the organization's story and build trust with diverse donors and stakeholders
  • Experience translating strategic goals into actionable plans, including setting realistic timelines and well-defined expectations
  • Proficiency with donor management software (CRM) and digital fundraising platforms (experience with Donor Perfect CRM is preferred)
  • Comfortable working independently and staying accountable to goals and deadlines
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
  • Extended periods of sitting, working on computer
  • Networking, social, special event attendance, and varying schedule based on donor and fundraising activities
  • Functional physical demands include manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and reach. The following senses will be needed for the essential duties of the job: speech and hearing.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs independently or with assistance

SALARY: $95,000-$115,00, plus a potential performance bonus tied to organizational goal attainment.
