Product Security Engineering Manager, Missile & Weapons Systems

The Space Intelligence & Weapons Systems (SI&WS) Organization is seeking an experienced Missile and Weapon Systems (MWS) Product Security Engineering Manager to organize, equip, develop, and sustain the MWS Product Security Engineering (PSE) Capability in either Huntsville, Alabama OR St. Charles, Missouri! The MWS PSE team is responsible for the security, resiliency, and safety of our products and services.

In this role, you will be responsible for the MWS PSE team and ensure that our engineers and analysts are ready and able to deliver secure and resilient products and services to our customers. You will be the champion for Boeing PSE across MWS Program and Engineering teams.

This critical position will leverage and benefit from experience in strategic thinking, program planning, organization and execution, proposals, multi-discipline engineering & analysis, and talent management. You will work across the MWS division, which is a dynamic and growing organization with a leadership team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions for National Defense and Strategic Deterrence.

The programs that we support include Integrated Air & Missile Defense products: Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3), Avenger, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (ABMD), Integrated Fire Protection Capability (IFPC) 2nd Interceptor; Missile Defense Agency National Team: Systems Engineering & Integration Team, Command & Control Battle Management & Communications (C2BMC); Strategic Deterrence Systems: Minuteman Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) support and guidance system repair; Direct Attack (DA) portfolio of programs; Cruise Missile Systems portfolio of programs; Advanced Weapons Special Programs.

You will be joining a team of Product Security Engineers and Leaders that are working across Boeing, to jointly develop best practices, techniques and tools, and a diverse technical community to draw upon to deliver best value to our customers.

Positions Responsibilities:

  • Division engineering leader for all division-wide MWS PSE organizational strategy and actions including staff alignment, deployment, training, and Responsibility, Authority, and Accountability (RAA)
  • Division engineering leader responsible for ensuring engineering integrity, first time quality and efficient execution of Product Security activities on all MWS programs through the Gated Process and active participation in major program milestones. Actively partners with programs and people to ensure performance and growth on MWS programs.
  • Establishing MWS strategy and implementation plans that leverages Enterprise Product Security internal R&D investments to further develop MWS Product Security capabilities.
  • Hiring and developing top talent for MWS current and anticipated programs and product lines
  • Develop and execute Huntsville-region & St. Charles-region community and academic outreach and talent pipeline programs
  • Influencing and executing the Enterprise PSE Functional Office strategy, and tailoring to meet the unique MWS campaign and program needs.
  • Representing MWS PSE and partnering with Boeing Defense and Enterprise PSE Functional teams and partners
  • Build collaborative relationships, leverage support and commitment from others, promote ideas with enthusiasm, conviction, and assertiveness
  • Ensure execution excellence across all engineering program, IPT, or project planning efforts
  • Lead multi-site, multi-discipline teams and communicate technical and programmatic status to engineers, suppliers, program leadership, external stakeholders, and customers

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • Successfully completed a Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years, or been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program within the last 5 years
  • Currently hold IAM Level I DoD 8140.01 (previously 8570.01) compliant certification - CompTIA Security+ CE / Certified Authorization Professional (CAP) / GSLC
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership
  • 5+ years of experience managing or leading classified program teams
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity policies and implementation of Risk Management Framework (RMF): e.g. DAAPM, CNSSI 1253, ICD-503, JSIG, or NIST SP 800 series
  • 5+ years of experience supporting or leading proposals
  • 5+ years of experience using strategic problem-solving/analysis and communicating at senior management levels
  • 5+ years of experience demonstrating a strong understanding, implementation, and operation through the engineering lifecycle


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • IAM Level II DoD 8140.01 (previously 8570.01) compliant certification - CISSP,CISM,CASP+CE,CAP,GSLC,CCISO
  • Experience understanding, working with, or implementing Anti-Tamper requirements
  • Strategic planning and action taking, with proven experience influencing leadership, partners, and other groups
  • Leading and supporting program or integrated product team (IPT) planning and execution
  • Highly motivated and exhibit strong written and verbal communication, inter-personal, and problem solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders across multi-site and multi-discipline programs and environments
  • Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
  • Experience in positions where meticulous attention to detail, accuracy and quality was paramount
  • Demonstrated history of performance in systems or software engineering
