Essential Job Duties

The Art Director is a senior creative individual contributor responsible for developing and executing exceptional creative solutions from concept through final expression. This role is accountable for three core outcomes: great creative, great delivery, and great relationships. Working closely with creative leaders, senior partners, and creative peers, the Art Director translates high-level strategy, campaign direction, and brand intent into compelling visual and conceptual work across channels and formats. The ideal candidate is a master of ideas and visual craft, able to explore broadly, iterate quickly, collaborate at both senior and working levels, and set a high standard for creative excellence.

You will:

  • Develop original campaign and brand concepts that translate strategic direction into clear, compelling creative expressions and deliverables.
  • Create and direct visual solutions across a range of channels and formats, including digital, web, social, paid media, video, presentation, lifecycle, events, and other campaign touchpoints.
  • Partner closely with creative leaders, writers, designers, motion creatives, video partners, marketers, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop integrated creative work.
  • Interpret briefs, business goals, audience insights, and campaign strategies into strong conceptual routes and executable creative systems.
  • Lead the visual and conceptual development of projects from early exploration through refinement and final production.
  • Produce work that balances originality, brand alignment, clarity, and effectiveness while maintaining a high bar for craft and detail.
  • Explore multiple creative directions quickly and thoughtfully, using iteration to sharpen ideas and uncover the strongest solution.
  • Present concepts and creative rationale clearly and persuasively to peers, partners, and senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to and uphold the visual expression of the brand, helping define the territory the company seeks to own in the minds of its market.
  • Provide strong creative partnership and constructive feedback to peers and collaborators in support of better work across disciplines.
  • Stay current on design, advertising, video, visual storytelling, and emerging creative methods, including AI-enabled tools and workflows, and apply them thoughtfully where they improve the work.
  • Support production and execution with close attention to consistency, quality, and fidelity to the original creative intent.
  • Help establish and model standards for concepting, craft, visual excellence, and creative problem-solving across the team.

What You Need to Get the Job Done:

  • 7+ years of experience in art direction, brand, campaign, advertising, or integrated creative roles.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual range, visual excellence, and high-quality execution across multiple channels and formats.
  • Proven ability to take high-level strategy or creative direction and translate it into clear, specific, compelling creative work.
  • Demonstrated strength in both concept development and execution, with a center of gravity in ideas as well as visual craft.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior creative leaders, cross-functional partners, and creative peers.
  • Advanced proficiency in visual design principles, typography, layout, composition, and brand expression.
  • Strong understanding of campaign development and how visual systems extend across integrated experiences.
  • Ability to iterate quickly, explore multiple routes, and refine work based on feedback without losing creative quality.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and storytelling skills.
  • Strong judgment and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain high standards under deadline pressure.
  • Working knowledge of adjacent creative disciplines, including copy, motion, and video, with the ability to collaborate effectively across them.
  • Familiarity with evolving creative tools, workflows, and AI-enabled methods
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Art Direction, Advertising, Copywriting, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience required
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in person, in virtual meetings, and in written formats
  • Must be able to occasionally move materials or equipment up to 15 pounds.
