  • Hands-on experience contributing to a major feature, game, product launch, or entertainment property through the craft of visual communication design
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Visual Designer, UI Designer, or UI Artist
  • Expert knowledge in Figma

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the game development pipeline including optimization, localization, implementation
  • Experience in Adobe CC products including photoshop
  • Familiarity with game engines ( Unity / Unreal )
  • Experience in a secondary area such as motion graphics, illustration, animation, or modeling is a plus
  • Experience working in a distributed development environment
What the job involves
  • As a Senior Visual Designer on League of Legends, you will work collaboratively with other visual designers and artists to develop interactive experiences for League of Legends. We need your help producing assets of the highest quality to help immerse our players in the world of Runeterra
  • You will be embedded into a Dublin-based team working closely with developers and will report into the Production Director. You will work closely with the Art Director to collaborate with other artists to develop style guides, set visual direction, implement content, and improve on existing design work in and around the game
  • This role will be based in the Dublin office on a hybrid basis on a 12 month contract
  • Help shape UI direction for the League of Legends features, defining directions that meet the creative goals, and artistic direction of the project
  • Create visually balanced and intuitive interfaces that show a strong grasp of readability, hierarchy, platform, and player behaviour patterns
  • Create and extend themes throughout the project establishing style guides, design systems, and conventions
  • Understand concepts and process behind the existing guides, but also know when to break the rules
  • Collaborate with art, game design, UX design and engineering to create a compelling visual experience that meets the goals for player interaction
  • Create assets through each stage of development, driving the development of concepts from early ideation all the way to implementation in game engine
  • Use deep knowledge of systemic design, graphic design, interactivity, layout, typography, color theory, and illustration to create seamless player experiences
  • Possess a growth mindset, seeking mentorship from the discipline artists and community
  • Help uphold, innovate within, and elevate the quality bar for your discipline
  • Work autonomously to uphold craft best practices in Dublin while empowering local developers
  • For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players. We will be looking at your past studies, experience, and your personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about players' experiences, this could be your role!
