ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform structural analysis and design for a wide range of foundation systems, including direct embed, drilled piers, spread footings, piles, caissons
  • Analyze and design pole and support structures constructed of wood, tubular steel, lattice steel, precast concrete, fiber-reinforced materials, and laminated wood
  • Design retaining wall systems, including soldier pile walls, rock anchors, and grouting solutions
  • Review and interpret geotechnical reports, survey data, mapping, and materials testing results to support engineering analyses using industry-standard modeling software
  • Coordinate with the Drafting Group to develop accurate and constructible design drawings using CAD tools
  • Plan, define, and manage structural scope of work, including task definition, scheduling, and on-time delivery of project deliverables
  • Interface directly with clients to clarify project requirements and provide value engineering solutions
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Civil, Substation, and Transmission engineering teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Maintain responsiveness to client needs and evolving project requirements
  • Evaluate environmental impacts and project-related risks associated with structural designs
  • Deliver optimized structural engineering designs in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices
  • Ensure designs meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and health and safety standards
  • Prepare construction specifications and material specifications
  • Develop bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Establish, implement, and adhere to QA/QC procedures
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, including day-to-day execution and coordination of assigned work

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of structural engineering consulting and design experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Proficiency in STAAD Pro required; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, LPILE, MFAD, RISA, MathCAD, PLS-CADD, TOWER, and POLE preferred
  • Experience supporting permitting, engineering design, and construction activities
  • Substation engineering consulting experience preferred
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with a demonstrated focus on client service
  • Self-motivated professional capable of exercising independent judgment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and rapidly adapt to shifting priorities
  • Working knowledge of applicable design codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE, AISC/ANSI, ACI, ASTM, NESC, and IEEE
