Role Profile
Business Development Director is responsible for leading the strategy and executing the plan in a specific vertical market (or markets) and/or geographical area to prospect identified accounts and/or verticals for new revenue/new logo's.
The Business Development Director represents the entire range of Citron services, consumables, and equipment to these assigned prospects while managing the customer accounts for a defined amount of time to retain business and penetrate at a site level and portfolio wide.
The Business Development Director works with the Directors of Sales and Operations, and other company resources to manage the day-to-day business relationships withing their accounts and ensure Citron's strong footprint and leadership within the vertical markets.
The Business Development Director is an integral part of the selling organization and is looked upon as a sales expert, therefore collaboration within the selling team and participation in various training initiatives will be part of the role.
Activity and revenue expectations are set monthly and reported through Citron CRM tool, Salesforce.com (SFDC) Dashboards and monthly reports. KPIs may be custom to each individual BDD dependent on the territory and/or vertical.
Key Responsibilities
  • Present, promote and sell Citron Hygiene products and services to prospects (new revenue/logo's)
  • Manage existing client relationships using the Citron sales process and defined pricing and policies of Citron, grow and retain the portfolio revenue in line with company expectations.
  • Use Salesforce CRM and other company defined IT systems to effectively manage pipelines, report activity, track sales, send contracts to clients, book appointments and communicate both internally and externally in a professional manner.
  • Works with Directors of Sales and Operations, and other company resources to manage the day-to-day business relationship and ensure Citron's strong footprint and leadership within the vertical market.
  • Attend internal meetings and training fully prepared with relevant customer data on market opportunities, promoting a positive and professional sales attitude in the office and on calls to ensure the high standards are required by Citron for customer service, hygiene, and environmental consciousness are maintained.
  • Carry out market research and maintain knowledgeable about the hygiene market in the defined territory, including awareness of competitor activity and new legislation, sharing with your team members and sales leadership teams as appropriate.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
  • 5+ years of a proven track record within a national/major account environment of driving revenue growth through new logo acquisitions.
  • Must hold a valid Driving Licence and travel locally to attend meetings.

Desirable
  • Education equivalent to a bachelor's degree in commerce and/or business studies preferred, or the equivalent in related work experience.
  • Industry relevant sales experience is preferred but not essential.

Skills Required
  • Ability to demonstrate the use of advanced sales skills especially but not limited to - listening, questioning, summarising, providing, negotiating, closing, and handling customer concerns.
  • Strong at building relationships, account management, communication, problem solving, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Broad business acumen with strong analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to use and understand sales related IT systems (SFDC) and use them effectively to manage own performance, pipelines, forecast and activity.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work in a matrix management environment working closely with sales colleagues in internal, regional, and strategic teams as well as operations, marketing, sales operations, finance, bid team, health and safety and compliance to achieve the business goals.

Expected Total Compensation: $80,000-$170,000
