Job description

Job Summary:
Government Tactical Solutions, LLC is seeking a Senior AFSIM Engineer to support Modeling & Simulation efforts at Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, IN. This role involves developing and customizing AFSIM-based solutions focused on Electronic Warfare and Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations, while leading small teams and interfacing with government stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of custom AFSIM solutions to support mission analysis and system evaluation.
• Serve as a technical lead for AFSIM-based efforts, providing guidance to junior engineers and analysts.
• Develop and extend custom models, behaviors, and plugins within AFSIM to meet evolving mission requirements.
• Architect and execute complex simulation scenarios supporting EW, EMSO, and multi-domain operations.
• Integrate AFSIM with other modeling and analysis tools (e.g., STK, NGTS, Builder, or other mission-level frameworks).
• Analyze simulation outputs and provide actionable insights, technical reports, and briefings to government stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align modeling efforts with system requirements and operational objectives.
• Apply programming expertise (Python, C++, or similar) to support automation, data processing, and tool integration.
• Support model-based systems engineering (MBSE) activities where applicable.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 2+ years of experience in modeling and simulation, with direct AFSIM development experience.
• Proven ability to develop and customize AFSIM models (not just execute simulations).
• Experience serving in a team lead or technical leadership capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical field.
• Strong programming skills (e.g., C++, Python, or similar).
• Experience supporting DoD programs, ideally within EW, EMSO, or intelligence domains.
• Active Secret clearance required; TS or higher strongly preferred.
• Must be willing to obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of start.
• Ability to work on-site in Crane, IN and collaborate in a classified environment.
Preferred:
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Deep familiarity with AFSIM architecture, scripting, and plugin development.
• Experience integrating AFSIM with mission-level or constructive simulation environments.
• Knowledge of electronic warfare, RF systems, or spectrum operations.
• Experience with MBSE tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo, MagicDraw).
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Company:
Government Tactical Solutions (GovTact) provides mission-critical solutions in support of national security. Founded in 2009, the company is headquartered in Herndon, USA, with a team of 51-200 employees. The company is currently Growth Stage.
