Job description

Position Summary

Perry Homes is seeking a Director of Technology Operations & Security to lead the technology services that keep our business secure, reliable, and productive.

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, this leader will have enterprise responsibility for technology operations, infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, identity and access management, Service Desk and field support, disaster recovery, telecommunications, and operational governance.

This is a leadership role requiring someone who can balance strategy with execution. The successful candidate will strengthen operational disciplines, improve service delivery, advance Perry Homes' cybersecurity capabilities, develop the team, and ensure technology services remain reliable as the company continues to grow.

The Director will lead an organization of approximately 14 technology professionals through Service Desk and Infrastructure/Security leadership and will work closely with business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and executive leadership.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnology Operations & Service Delivery

Lead enterprise technology operations including infrastructure, cloud, networking, endpoint management, collaboration platforms, telecommunications, and end-user support.

Establish clear service levels, operational metrics, accountability, monitoring, and continuous improvement practices.

Ensure technology services are reliable, scalable, secure, and responsive to business needs.

Develop and execute infrastructure and technology operations roadmaps and lifecycle plans.

Establish strong incident, problem, and change management practices.

Lead major technology incidents and ensure clear, timely communication with business and executive leadership.

Cybersecurity & Risk

Provide leadership and accountability for Perry Homes' cybersecurity program.

Establish and maintain security policies, standards, processes, and operational controls.

Oversee security monitoring, vulnerability management, identity and access management, incident response, and security remediation.

Strengthen Perry Homes' security posture through measurable risk reduction and continuous improvement.

Partner with Legal, Internal Audit, Risk, business leaders, and external security partners on assessments and remediation activities.

Ensure cybersecurity incident response and recovery plans are documented, tested, and maintained.

Support effective security awareness and education across the company.

Infrastructure & Cloud

Own the operational performance of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, networking, servers, endpoints, backup and recovery, and related infrastructure platforms.

Develop infrastructure strategies that improve reliability, security, scalability, and cost effectiveness.

Ensure appropriate monitoring, capacity planning, lifecycle management, architecture, and operational readiness.

Lead modernization initiatives and evaluate emerging technologies where they provide meaningful business value.

Service Desk & Field Support

Lead Service Desk and Field Support organizations supporting corporate offices, sales environments, and field operations.

Build a customer-focused service culture centered on responsiveness, ownership, and problem resolution.

Improve service levels, response and resolution times, knowledge management, and customer satisfaction.

Ensure effective employee onboarding, technology provisioning, offboarding, asset management, and endpoint lifecycle processes.

Use service data and recurring issue analysis to identify opportunities for permanent improvement.

Resilience & Business Continuity

Own technology disaster recovery planning, testing, and readiness.

Ensure critical technology platforms have defined recovery objectives, documented recovery procedures, and appropriate backup strategies.

Conduct periodic recovery exercises and ensure identified gaps are remediated.

Partner with business leadership on technology resilience and continuity planning.

Vendor & Financial Management

Manage strategic vendors and managed service providers supporting infrastructure, cloud, security, telecommunications, and technology operations.

Establish clear service expectations and hold partners accountable for performance and contractual commitments.

Develop and manage operating budgets and technology investment recommendations.

Identify opportunities to improve service while controlling or reducing operating costs.

Participate in contract negotiations, technology lifecycle planning, and vendor strategy.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead and develop a high-performing Technology Operations and Security organization.

Establish clear roles, accountability, performance expectations, and development plans.

Develop managers and technical leaders while maintaining appropriate technical depth within the organization.

Build a culture of ownership, urgency, collaboration, customer service, and continuous improvement.

Develop internal capabilities and reduce unnecessary dependence on outside providers.

Requirements

QualificationsRequired

10+ years of progressive information technology experience with significant leadership responsibility.

5+ years leading infrastructure, technology operations, cybersecurity, or related teams.

Demonstrated experience leading enterprise infrastructure and cloud environments.

Strong understanding of cybersecurity operations, identity management, vulnerability management, and incident response.

Experience managing Service Desk or end-user technology services.

Experience establishing operational metrics, service management processes, and technology governance.

Demonstrated leadership of major technology incidents and operational risk.

Strong vendor and managed service provider management experience.

Experience managing technology budgets and investments.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, business leaders, and executives.

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience supporting a geographically distributed workforce or field-based operations.

Experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.

Experience in homebuilding, construction, real estate, manufacturing, or similar operational environments.

CISSP, CISM, ITIL, Microsoft Azure, or other relevant industry certifications.

Experience improving or transforming an IT operations or cybersecurity organization.
