Description

This position combines deep technical expertise in high-voltage battery systems with exceptional business development capabilities to position ONE as the preferred energy storage partner. The Director will engage customers at every levelโ€”from engineering teams to executive leadershipโ€”translating complex technical solutions into compelling business value while driving revenue growth and long-term strategic partnerships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Strategic Business Development
  • Develop and execute business development strategies that expand ONE's presence across target industries.
  • Identify, qualify, and prioritize new customer opportunities while building a robust sales pipeline.
  • Develop account strategies that align customer needs with ONE's technology roadmap.
Technical Customer Leadership
  • Serve as the primary technical interface during customer engagement activities.
  • Present battery system capabilities, performance data, architecture, and product differentiation to technical and executive audiences.
  • Translate customer technical requirements into commercially viable solutions.
Customer & Partner Relationship Management
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with OEMs, system integrators, government agencies, channel partners, and strategic customers.
  • Represent ONE at customer meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, and technical events.
Opportunity Capture & Proposal Development
  • Lead or support capture strategies for new business opportunities.
  • Contribute technical and commercial content for proposals, RFIs, RFPs, quotations, and customer presentations.
  • Support contract negotiations alongside commercial leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management to ensure customer requirements are reflected in product development and execution.
  • Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to support strategic planning.
Pipeline Management & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate opportunity forecasting using CRM tools.
  • Provide regular reports on pipeline health, revenue forecasts, competitive activity, and business development performance.
  • Identify risks, mitigation strategies, and growth opportunities for executive leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within the high-voltage battery or energy storage industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of technical business development, sales engineering, strategic account management, or related customer-facing experience.
Experience

Experience within one or more of the following industries:

  • Defense
  • Rail
  • Grid Energy Storage
  • Commercial Truck
  • Specialty Vehicles

Extensive knowledge of:

  • Lithium-ion battery technologies
  • Cell chemistry
  • Battery Management Systems (BMS)
  • Pack architecture
  • Thermal management
  • Power electronics
  • High-voltage system integration
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with engineering, procurement, program management, and executive leadership
  • Proven success developing strategic customer relationships and growing technical sales pipelines
  • Experience preparing technical proposals and supporting capture activities.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance or ability to obtain one preferred
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
