Job Description Summary

This position is based in East Hanover, NJ and will not have the ability to be located remotely. Please note that this role would not provide relocation and only local candidates will be considered. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require up to 20% travel.
Reporting into the ED, US Business Strategy Lead, this role leads day-to-day strategy engagements within US Business Strategy, translating the pillar lead's agenda into structured projects, aligned stakeholders, decision-ready recommendations, and execution handoffs.
The Director, US Strategy Engagement Lead is responsible for owning assigned engagements within US commercial enterprise strategy development, functional strategy alignment, annual / quarterly strategic planning, market and competitive synthesis, and US LT decision options. The role is also accountable for workplan, stakeholder alignment, synthesis, recommendations, and handoff quality.


Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of strategic framing,issuetrees, hypotheses, opportunity sizing, andUS commercialenterprise strategy narratives.
  • Coordinate functional strategy inputs and pressure-test whetherfunctional plans ladder to UScommercialenterprise priorities.
  • Synthesize market, customer, competitor, policy, portfolio, financial, and operating model inputs into clear strategic choices.
  • Prepare USLT-ready recommendations, strategic options, and trade-off narratives.
  • Coach AD and Manager resources; ensure analyses, narratives, and stakeholder processes meet executive quality standards.

Essential Requirements:

Education(minimum/desirable):

  • Required:Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Preferred: Advanced degree (Master of Science and/or MBA)

Experience:

  • 8+ years of consulting, corporate strategy, commercial strategy, strategic operations, transformation, or relevant pharma / healthcare experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead 1-2 complex strategy engagements concurrently with senior stakeholders and ambiguous scope.
  • Strong hypothesis-driven problem solving, facilitation, storylining, analytical synthesis, and influence without authority.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Top-tier consulting, corporate strategy, commercial strategy, project leadership, or transformation experience.
  • Experience converting recommendations into roadmaps, owners, KPIs, and governance handoffs.

The salary for this position is expected to range between $185,500.00 and $344,500.00 per year.

The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
