Job description

Director, Product Management- Enterprise AI

Product Management at Capital One is a booming, vibrant craft that requires reimagining the status quo, finding value creation opportunities, and driving innovative and sustainable customer experiences through technology. We believe our portfolio of businesses and investments in growth and transformation will result in a company with the scale, brand, capabilities, talent, and values to succeed as the digital revolution transforms our society and our industry.

About the Team

As a Director on the Associate Experience product team you will embark on the mission to connect customers in the Capital One enterprise (i.e., our employees, or Associates) with simple to use, digitally enriched experiences that are designed to enhance the associate experience. Capital One has a reputation of providing an industry leading customer experience, and is continuously pushing boundaries, surprising customers with solutions they never thought were possible. We strive to create the same unparalleled experience for our Associates, the employees of Capital One.

About the Role:

As the Director of Product for Enterprise AI, you will establish a unified approach to AI that ensures a consistent user experience across our Associate Experience (AX) tooling. You will be responsible for building the trust necessary for our workforce to rely on AI, maximizing the return on our investments in our most used tools. By tying together active AI initiatives across AX, you will prevent costly silos and empower our associates to focus on value creation rather than navigating fragmented tools and knowledge sets.

We are looking for a leader who blends product execution with strategic vision to build an ecosystem of seamless, agentic experiences. You will serve as the primary product interface between associate tooling, Developer Experiences, and our AI/ML teams, driving fast decision-making and clearly communicating "in-flight" activities to key stakeholders.

In this Role You Will:

  • Establish Strategic Vision: Own the AX AI roadmap and governance standards to manage risk, prioritize high-value use cases, and ensure our infrastructure supports the broader Enterprise AI roadmap.

  • Lead Product Execution: Direct a team focused on integrating core services with AI agents, utilizing agentic frameworks and orchestration protocols as the baseline for our vision.

  • Drive User Enablement: Champion AI adoption through standardized prompt/interaction patterns and comprehensive enablement programs to drive workforce proficiency.

  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment: Work seamlessly across lines of business (LOBs) to establish governance protocols, consolidate disparate AI initiatives, and build a cohesive ecosystem.

Capital One Product Framework

In this role, you'll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in five key areas which we consider to be the foundation for successful Product management:

  • Human Centered - Obsesses about internal and external customer needs to reimagine and innovate product solutions

  • Business Focused - Delivers game-changing outcomes by focusing on leverage and execution excellence

  • Technology Driven - Leverages technology to deliver innovative and resilient solutions that enable both near term and long term value

  • Integrated Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves complex problems to deliver outcomes while mitigating product risks

  • Transformational Leadership - Leads cross functional teams to solve customer problems and drive organizational alignment

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience working in Product Management

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)

    • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Product expertise with best-in-class generative AI products (e.g., Claude, Gemini, Glean, etc.).

  • Experience establishing and working with agentic frameworks and LLM orchestration protocols.

  • Track record in defining long-term AI strategy, roadmap prioritization, and implementing governance standards to manage AI risk.

  • Experience managing product management teams, specifically leading and mentoring senior-level direct reports.

  • Strong background serving as a primary liaison between Product, Engineering, Data/ML teams, and senior executive leadership.

  • Experience developing user enablement programs and standardizing interaction patterns for emerging technologies.
