Job description

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Software Engineer position that will ensure that all system and application deliverables meet the requirements of all DoD and Space Force/Air Force Cybersecurity policies.  

This is a full-time position in Colorado Springs, CO, working on-site at Peterson Space Force Base (SFB).


Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Individuals must have comprehensive knowledge and experience in software development techniques and practices
  • An individual must have experience/background in Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • An individual must have experience managing Agile SW Development Teams and be familiar with practices and techniques to ensure software meets the Government’s standards
  • An individual must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing, providing high-quality acquisition and program documentation (briefings, documents, plans, etc.).
  • The individual must have knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of software development efforts
  • The individual must provide technical expertise to the government project lead for the design, development, integration, and testing of software efforts and ensure those efforts follow applicable DoD standards
  • The individual must be able to perform software design, code reviews, and Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to ensure the developed software complies with quality specifications
  • The individual must work with the software designer to determine the operational feasibility of prime contractor solutions by evaluating problem definition, requirements, analysis, solution development, and proposed solutions.

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • ClearanceTop Secret-level security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI level clearance
  •  Education: High school Diploma
  • Years of Experience:  Minimum 3 years’ experience in IA technology or a related area.
  • Certifications: IAT Level II baseline certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, CSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP)

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: TS with SCI 

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Years of experience: Minimum five years of directly related experience with proper certifications

Certifications: IAT Level II baseline certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, CSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP)

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with Scenario Generation 
  • Familiarity with ITW/AA 

Interpersonal Skills

  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a project team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Additional Information

Location: Peterson SFB

Travel: 5%

Remote, Onsite, or Hybrid: Hybrid, onsite 3 days per week

Compensation: $190,000-$243,000 annually

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
