Job description


  • Provide executive leadership for 22 employees across CMS Quality Reporting and Abstraction, Quality Data Analytics, and Surgical Quality Registry (NSQIP) functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, data integrity, and operational excellence.

  • Serve as the enterprise leader for quality measurement and analytics, integrating data from CMS, public reporting programs, clinical registries, Epic, MIDAS, and other sources to assess performance, benchmark outcomes, and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Translate complex quality and safety data into actionable insights that inform executive decision-making, Balanced Scorecard priorities, strategic planning, and organizational improvement initiatives.

  • Lead the development of dashboards, scorecards, and performance visualizations that support leaders, physicians, and frontline teams in monitoring outcomes and driving sustained improvement.


Summary:
Provides leadership and direction to the Quality Reporting and Data Analytics Team. Responsible for the successful operations, strategy, and development of the Regional Quality Reporting and Data Analytics Program. The Director of Quality Reporting and Data Analysis position is responsible for executing on the data analysis and reporting strategy by working alongside leadership to push forward the vision of managing data as a key driver for performance improvement. Identify and build overall system efficiencies while expanding on the current program to reach a more robust and sustainable future state. The Director of Quality Reporting and Data Analysis will be a trusted subject matter expert and a data and insights focused liaison across MaineHealth and the multiple MaineHealth (MH) matrixed entities. This position is expected to frequently communicate and collaborate with other MH Data Analyst and Quality Reporting Teams, and IT, as well as contribute towards MH data governance initiatives. The Director has been identified as a key partner to other responsible parties that oversee the provision of clinical data reporting structures, extracts, various analytic approaches and methodologies, governance initiatives, and support on various data and analytic tools to include those used with Epic. This role will ensure that future analytics are a trusted data source that supports timely, accurate, and invaluable insights to care team members.


Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: Masterโ€™s degree or equivalent practical experience in an appropriate discipline. Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, business management, or related field.

  • License/Certifications: Epic Certification preferred

  • Experience: 5-10+ years managing technical resources. Oversight of business intelligence and software developers, graphics design teams, and data analysts preferred. 7+ years working with healthcare related data and large data structures.

  • Public speaking, teaching, or experience in software training preferred

  • Extensive experience in requirements gathering, data mining, design, testing, validation, implementation, and support of enterprise data structures.

  • Proficiency and experience using and/or building various software applications and business intelligence tools and platforms.

  • Requires a positive, outgoing, and confident professional who has excellent communication skills and is both comfortable and experienced in working alongside varying role levels within the organization

  • Can effectively communicate complex analytic concepts to audiences with varying levels of technical savvy. Ability to present QI concepts, methods and tools in a clear and persuasive manner in verbal, written, automated and audiovisual formats to a variety of audiences

  • Effects positive change throughout the organization and establishes meaningful working relationships throughout the organization

  • In-depth knowledge of emerging analytic concepts and trends both within and outside of healthcare partnered with knowledge of healthcare data and complex technical systems and processes.

  • Ability to travel throughout various locations in the organization.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

The pay range for this position is $113,360.00to $153,379.20per year.
