Job description
We are seeking a motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary research team at Indiana University, Bloomington. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research on the development of open- and closed-shell organic semiconducting materials for optoelectronic applications. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with access to world-class facilities and to engage in high-impact research at the interface of chemistry, physics, and materials science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Synthesize and characterize organic semiconductors, including small molecules and polymers.
- Perform steady-state spectroscopy (UvVisNIR, luminescence, and CW-EPR)
- Participate in time-resolved spectroscopy experiments (e.g., TCSPC and transient absorption).
- Participate in electrochemical experiments (e.g., CV, EIS, GCD).
- Collaborate closely with team members and external partners to design and interpret experiments.
- Leverage state-of-the-art facilities, including a premier light microscopy center, for advanced optical characterization.
What We Offer:
- An opportunity to work on groundbreaking research with state-of-the-art instrumentation and resources.
- A collaborative research environment with internal and external partnerships.
- Career development and mentorship opportunities in an exciting, rapidly evolving field.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
- Strong background in organic semiconductor synthesis and multi-step synthetic techniques.
- Proficiency in steady-state and/or time-resolved spectroscopy is highly desirable.
- An interdisciplinary mindset and eagerness to expand skills across chemistry, spectroscopy, and materials science.
