Job description

The Director Strategic Sourcing Management for Service Supply Chain Operations is charged with crafting and putting into action sourcing strategies that secure continuity, scalability, cost efficiency, and resilience of service-related supply chains. This role directs strategic supplier engagement throughout logistics, repair, reverse logistics, field services, and aftermarket operations, partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Quality to support rapid growth and evolving service models.
This leader will develop and improve a high-performing supplier network. They will handle complex commercial negotiations and promote clear improvements in cost, service quality, risk reduction, and operational execution across a global or regional supply chain.
What you'll be doing:
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Strategy
  • Develop and complete comprehensive strategic sourcing plans for service supply chain categories, including logistics, repair services, reverse logistics, field service providers, and service operations support.
  • Build multi-year sourcing roadmaps aligned with business growth, service scalability, and operational resiliency objectives.
  • Lead make-vs-buy analyses, supplier segmentation, and capacity planning to support current and future service demand.

Supplier Management & Commercial Leadership
  • Own supplier selection, contract negotiation, and ongoing supplier performance management, including SLAs, important metrics, and continuous improvement commitments.
  • Drive commercial excellence through competitive sourcing events, cost modeling, should-cost analysis, and total cost of ownership (TCO) optimization.
  • Establish governance models for strategic suppliers, including QBRs, executive reviews, and risk management frameworks.

Service Supply Chain Operations Partnership
  • Partner with Service Operations, Logistics Execution, Repair/Remanufacturing, and Field Operations teams to ensure sourcing strategies enable operational excellence.
  • Support new service launches, NPI/NPD programs, and geographic expansion by securing supplier readiness, capacity, and compliance.
  • Ensure sourcing decisions align with service SLAs, uptime targets, customer experience, and safety/security requirements.

Risk, Compliance & Resilience
  • Identify and minimize supply, capacity, geopolitical, and operational risks across the service supply chain.
  • Ensure suppliers meet regulatory, trade compliance, safety, security, and sustainability standards.
  • Build contingency, dual-source, and recovery strategies to protect service continuity.

Financial & Performance Management
  • Deliver measurable cost savings, efficiency improvements, and value creation year over year.
  • Track sourcing performance against budget, forecast, and operational metrics.
  • Partner with Finance to support long-range planning, cost transparency, and investment trade-offs.

Leadership & Capability Building
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of strategic sourcing professionals.
  • Establish guidelines, standardized sourcing processes, and scalable operating models.
  • Influence senior collaborators and drive alignment across cross-functional teams without direct authority.

What we need to see:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • More than 12 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, focusing on service supply chain operations and 8 + years of people management experience.
  • Proven experience in recognizing and managing intricate service providers (logistics, repair, reverse logistics, field services, or similar).
  • Proven success leading high-value negotiations and managing large, multi-year supplier contracts.
  • Strong understanding of service supply chain metrics, SLAs, cost drivers, and operational trade-offs.
  • Excellent collaborator management, executive communication, and influence skills.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:
  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience in high-growth, technology, infrastructure, data center, or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Global or multi-region sourcing experience.
  • Familiarity with risk management, trade compliance, and regulatory requirements impacting service supply chains.
  • Experience building teams and scaling sourcing organizations.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 240,000 USD - 379,500 USD.
You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
