Role Summary:
This is a senior, hands-on Mechanical Engineering role for a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) who can both lead design work and elevate overall engineering quality. The position blends deep technical execution with leadership, project coordination, and mentorship. The role may be scoped as either a Senior Mechanical Engineer or Director-level position depending on experience.
Core Responsibilities:
• Lead HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical system design for commercial and industrial projects.
• Develop system concepts; perform or oversee load calculations, energy analysis, and equipment selection.
• Review and approve drawings, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and national codes.
• Partner with project managers, architects, contractors, and owners throughout design and construction.
• Provide technical support during construction and closeout.
• Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing performance or compliance.
Leadership Expectations:
• Serve as a technical authority and escalation point for complex projects.
• Mentor and develop technical knowledge for designers, project managers and service sales staff
• Lead design reviews and enforce quality-control standards.
• Help improve engineering processes, tools, and standards.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• 10+ years of experience in HVAC and plumbing design for commercial and/or industrial facilities.
• Experience in consulting engineering, design/build, or construction environments.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and engineering calculation tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with clients and internal teams.
Compensation & Benefits:
• Estimated base salary range: $110,000-$165,000
