This position would be ideal for an ambitious engineer looking to further their career in the field of fluids and R&D and push their knowledge of the SEMI Conductor Industry. Once hired, the Flow Metrology Engineer will be located onsite at our facility in Sparks, NV.

Qualifications

  • BSME, BSCE, BS of Physics w. Emphasis in Fluid Dynamics or greater. 
  • 5+ years of engineering or related work experience.

  • Strong coding ability in MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, VBA, and C/C#/C++.
  • Strong experience using version control software.
  • Strong understanding of chemical and mechanical engineering principles. Ability to exercise discretion/independent judgment.
  • Ability to Independently drive projects and articulate ideas to other members of the team.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external customers.
  • Technical expertise in the development and commercialization of systems used in semiconductor flow delivery.
  • Working knowledge of design controls, and quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and lead projects used to develop gas flow & pressure testing, including rate of rise systems, flow accuracy validation, transient flow testing, and be able to support others in flow metrology setup to achieve evolving goals.
  • Learn the language used to write sequences for the metrology systems and then develop said test sequences.
  • Write MATLAB code to analyze flow metrology data. 
  • Write MATLAB code to process device calibration data used in the product. 
  • Develop, improve, and verify algorithms used for device calibrations. 
  • Develop flow metrology analysis to support Product Calibration Maps. 
  • Derive correlations with a solid theoretical basis for experimental work.
  • Work with and design 1D flow networks and P&IDs.  
  • Lead and guide other team members involved in all tasks above. 
  • Effectively document work to be used as a reference for others. 
  • Adept at using first principles to break down complex experimental results into fundamental problems.
  • Investigate experimental characterization and implement feedback to manage design of laminar flow restrictors and valves.
  • Apply engineering principles of fluid mechanics, mass transfer, thermodynamics and control systems to formulate experiments and interpret their results.
  • Coordinate with counterparts in other departments as needed keeping engineering manager informed.
  • Contribute significantly to design controls documents, test plans and test execution
  • Perform other duties assigned by director or tech staff engineers as needed and work independently with minimal supervision.
