APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE*** Job Summary The Nevada Department of Business and Industry, Financial Institutions Division is hiring for a Deputy Administrator in Las Vegas. The Deputy Administrator supports the Administrator in overseeing the Division's regulatory functions.

Key responsibilities include: managing daily operations and supervising a statewide team of 48 staff; administering and enforcing the provisions of NRS/NAC Chapters; overseeing licensing, examinations, investigations, and the rulemaking process; developing policies, procedures, and agency budgets; and representing the Division in public forums, legislative hearings, and industry events. The incumbent will also be leading initiatives in IT oversight and cryptocurrency regulation as well as building partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies. The ideal candidate is an ethical and strategic leader with a strong background in financial institution regulation and oversight.

Demonstrate effective conflict resolution skills, adaptability, and uphold a high level of integrity in all aspects of their work. They must be flexible, possess excellent problem-solving abilities, and exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills. A collaborative mindset, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a willingness to learn and grow are essential for success in this role.

Essential Qualifications Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in financial institutions or regulatory oversight. Administration and management of key functional areas such as audit, compliance, safety and soundness examinations, risk management. Knowledge in cybersecurity, cryptocurrency, and digital assets.

Job Duties The Division is responsible for the licensing, examination, and regulatory supervision of depository, fiduciary, and non-depository institutions in Nevada. The Division upholds the integrity of the financial system by enforcing applicable state and federal laws under NRS Titles 52, 54, and 55. The Division actively monitors and adapts to emerging technologies and evolving regulatory standards to ensure effective oversight and compliance.
