Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive services to the Illinois Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a Full-time Director of Infection Control (Registered Nurse) to join our Regional Office team in Springfield, Illinois. This is a remote/traveling position. Candidates must reside in Illinois and live a commutable distance to our regional office for meetings and sites. Weekly travel will vary week by week -- 1x/week up to 5x/week, as needed.
The Infection Control Director (Registered Nurse) oversees the operations of the infection prevention, epidemiology and relevant safety of incarcerated individuals in a correctional setting. This person identifies as promptly as possible patients and staff who have acquired infection and maintain a register of all notified infections. They coordinate and implement our Infection Control Program. This person ensures compliance with isolation techniques and procedures to provide optimum care for patients.
  • APIC Certification; certification in Infection Control preferred
  • 1-3 years' experience providing nursing care in a public health environment or acute care setting with a focus on infection prevention and control
  • Clear/Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
  • Experience working with a high degree of autonomy required
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with staff and institutional administration
  • Computer skills required include Microsoft Office
  • Corrections experience preferred
  • Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ BLS
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
