Job description

Registered Nurse

Functioning within the Health System’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on his/her shift. RN responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care using age specific criteria utilizing nursing processes. The RN also assists in planning, directing and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries. Coordinates patient care in collaboration with other members of an interdisciplinary team. Educates patient and families and utilizes resources to prepare patients for discharge. Must demonstrate flexibility with work schedule changes and be on call per department requirements. Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensure/Certification: Must have a valid unrestricted RN license for the State of Ohio. Current BLS required. Experience: One to three years in long term care, physical rehabilitation nursing and/or Care System preferred. Skills: Must have excellent customer service skills, including the ability to exhibit patience and tact with all constituents including physicians, patients and associates. Be cooperative and collaborative, and have the ability to work efficiently while in stressful situations. Must have the ability to apply healthcare principles, practices and use independent judgment. Must have basic computer skills and EMR (electronic medical records) experience.
