Position Summary
The Global Director of Corporate Credit is responsible for establishing and leading Parker's global credit strategy, governance framework, and policy infrastructure in support of a 3.0 billion accounts receivable portfolio. This role provides enterprise leadership for managing receivables risk, protecting the company's receivable asset, and enabling consistent, compliant, and analytically driven credit practices across global operations.
The position requires a strong executive presence, deep technical expertise in global corporate credit and accounts receivable management, and the ability to influence across a complex global organization. The successful leader will drive transformation through process standardization, technology enablement, analytics, continuous improvement, and talent development while ensuring alignment with Parker policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
This role acts as a trusted advisor to senior management by providing insight into portfolio trends, customer risk, macroeconomic conditions, working capital impacts, and global receivables performance.
Essential functions:
- Set the global vision and strategic direction for Parker's Corporate Credit Processes and Policies, ensuring consistent governance, effective controls, rigorous testing, and enterprise-wide compliance across the function.
- Lead the ongoing evaluation and transformation of global credit operations, driving continuous improvement, standardization of best practices, process efficiency, and scalable tools that enable consistent execution across the enterprise.
- Lead the global credit management strategy, including approval of credit limits within delegated authority, proactive risk assessment, and mitigation strategies that protect the company's receivables portfolio and support profitable growth.
- Provide executive oversight of global accounts receivable operations, including collections, cash application, claims, and dispute management, to optimize cash flow, strengthen controls, and improve working capital performance.
- Advance Parker's Win Strategy by aligning global credit priorities with enterprise objectives, influencing business outcomes, and directly leading initiatives that strengthen growth, cash flow, risk management, and operational performance.
- Provide senior-level review and guidance on complex or marginal credit decisions for new and existing customers, proactively identifying risk and implementing strategies to reduce delinquency exposure and minimize bad debt losses.
- Effective collaboration with internal customer facing teams such as sales and marketing to develop and execute credit strategies that support business growth objectives while managing risk.
- Represent Parker in professional credit associations and industry forums to benchmark global credit practices, identify emerging trends, expand professional networks, and bring forward best-in-class approaches to strengthen the function.
- Assess global economic conditions, customer trends, industry dynamics, and portfolio risks, and translate insights into clear, actionable guidance for executive leadership and key business stakeholders.
- Deliver timely, relevant financial and customer intelligence to corporate management to support informed decision-making, risk evaluation, and business strategy execution.
- Evaluate, champion, and implement innovative technologies, systems, analytics, and business practices that enhance global credit performance, improve efficiency, and strengthen risk management capabilities.
- Lead enterprise-level reporting for key stakeholders, providing meaningful visibility into credit metrics, portfolio performance, customer risk, business trends, and macroeconomic impacts on Parker's receivables position.
- Ensure receivable reserves and accruals are appropriately established, reviewed, and maintained in compliance with policy, including bad debt, aged and disputed receivables, returns, and allowances.
- Champion the development of training, education, and capability-building programs that strengthen technical expertise, leadership effectiveness, and continuous learning across the global credit organization.
- Ensure effective internal controls, governance, and compliance with Parker corporate policies and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, including oversight of testing, issue resolution, and sustained control effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Master's degree in business administration or related advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years management experience in corporate credit with a global industrial co.
