Regional Director, External Wholesaler, Midwest / Southwest

A multi-billion dollar investment management firm specializing in fixed income portfolios on behalf of high-net-worth, ultra-high-net-worth, and institutional investors is looking to hire a Regional Director, External Wholesaler, Midwest / Southwest. The firm's goal is to be a top provider of fixed income investment solutions to its clients by offering world class portfolio management, superior value-added thought leadership and preeminent client service for advisors and investors.

Summary

The Regional Director, External Wholesaler role includes calling on Financial Advisors and selling municipal bond separately managed accounts. The role is dedicated to increasing the sale of the firmโ€™s products through regular telephone presentations and meetings. The ideal candidate should have extensive business development/wholesaling experience within the Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, UBS, and Wells Fargo and RIA distribution channels, in particular. The External Wholesaler will be responsible for making proactive calls to clients and prospects while managing an assigned territory within the US - these conversations should increase the financial advisorโ€™s knowledge and awareness of the firm's products. Primary client interaction is by telephone as well as travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct proactive telephone and in-person sales presentations to top tier advisors highlighting firm products and value proposition.
  2. Partner with CEO, fellow sales professionals, and support team to drive asset growth and build relationships with advisors through execution of a defined territory plan and sales process.
  3. Effectively profile advisors to understand their practice, clients and investment process to identify needs and to position investment solutions and services to meet those needs.
  4. Provide portfolio construction and practice management support to financial advisors to help them strengthen their client relationships and grow their business.
  5. Execute consistent follow up with advisors to advance the sales process and deepen advisor relationships.
  6. Demonstrate organized, efficient and effective territory management and phone skills on a consistent basis.

Requirements

  1. 5 - 10+ years of internal / external wholesaling experience within the asset management industry.
  2. Established relationships with independent RIA and bulge bracket financial services distribution channels in the Midwest and Southwest preferred.
  3. Knowledge of fixed income and separately managed accounts is preferred.
  4. Series 65/66 registrations
