The Team You’ll Join  

You will join Envestnet’s RIA Sales team, a high-performing group focused on driving growth and deepening strategic relationships across the advisory market. This team partners closely with Product, Investment Solutions, Marketing, Client Experience, and leadership teams to deliver a comprehensive wealth management ecosystem to RIAs and advisory firms.
 

In this Senior Consultant-level individual contributor role, you will help expand adoption of Envestnet and Tamarac solutions, support advisor success, and identify opportunities to bring integrated financial services, including managed accounts, analytics, alternatives, tax overlay, direct indexing, and other wealth management solutions, to clients. The environment is fast-paced, client-facing, and highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on strategic thinking, executive relationship building, consultative selling, and measurable revenue growth.

How You’ll Contribute  

Envestnet is seeking an experienced and highly strategic Business Development Senior Consultant - RIA to drive growth and expand adoption of Envestnet’s wealth management ecosystem across the RIA marketplace. As a senior individual contributor, this role owns a high-value territory, develops executive-level relationships with advisory firms, and leads complex sales opportunities that advance Envestnet’s presence within the industry.

The Business Development Senior Consultant - RIA serves as a trusted advisor to clients and strategic partners, helping firms evaluate how Envestnet’s technology, managed account solutions, investment offerings, and broader ecosystem can support their business objectives. This role also contributes market insight, competitive intelligence, and client feedback to help shape sales strategy and inform cross-functional priorities.

  • Own and execute a strategic territory plan focused on acquiring, expanding, and retaining relationships with Registered Investment Advisors and advisory firms.
  • Lead enterprise-level sales efforts for Envestnet’s comprehensive wealth management ecosystem, including Tamarac(reporting, trading, CRM), managed accounts, investment solutions, direct indexing, tax overlay, analytics & alternatives. 
  • Build and manage consultative relationships with executive stakeholders, firm principals, CIOs, COOs, and other senior decision-makers within client and prospect organizations.
  • Identify, structure, negotiate, and close complex multi-product sales opportunities that support sustained revenue growth and long-term client partnership objectives.
  • Serve as the primary sales lead for strategic RIA relationships, helping firms align Envestnet capabilities with their business, technology, operational, and investment goals.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that expand advisor adoption across Envestnet’s platform and solution set.
  • Lead sales of managed accounts, including SMA, UMA, strategist portfolios, and related investment solutions, while positioning complementary Envestnet offerings such as tax overlay, direct indexing, alternatives & analytics.
  • Act as a lead generalist, supported by subject matter experts, to identify, advance, and shepherd opportunities across managed account administration technology, performance reporting, investment solutions & overlay services. 
  •  Identify, recruit, and sign new $100MM+ RIA firms onto Envestnet and Tamarac, then drive managed account adoption and broader ecosystem expansion within those firms.
  • Partner with Product, Investment Solutions, Marketing, Client Experience, Sales leadership, and other internal stakeholders to bring tailored, integrated solutions to market.
  • Influence go-to-market strategy through client insights, competitive intelligence, market expertise, and feedback from strategic RIA relationships.
  • Represent Envestnet at industry conferences, client meetings, market-facing activities, and strategic events that strengthen Envestnet’s brand presence in the RIA space.
  • Provide mentorship and informal guidance to peers and less-experienced sales professionals, helping elevate overall sales effectiveness and market knowledge.
  • Maintain strong forecasting discipline, pipeline hygiene, and sales activity tracking in Salesforce, Calendly, Seismic, and related sales enablement tools.
  • Consistently deliver against aggressive revenue goals and drive long-term territory growth initiatives.
  • Adhere to and apply Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity, and administrative policies within the role and department, including timely completion of training, awareness, affirmations, and testing as requested.
  • Understand and support Envestnet’s established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls, and procedures designed to create value and minimize risk.

What You’ll Need to Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related area of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated success owning a high-value territory or complex book of business and consistently achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Proven experience leading complex sales cycles, including executive-level engagement, multi-stakeholder negotiations, and multi-solution opportunities.
  • Deep understanding of the advisory business model, RIA marketplace, trading and reporting technology, financial planning workflows, investment solutions, and wealth management services.
  • Ability to articulate the value of Envestnet’s broader ecosystem, including managed accounts, platform technology, investment solutions, analytics, tax overlay, direct indexing, alternatives 
  • Experience building trusted relationships with executive stakeholders and serving as a consultative advisor to clients and strategic partners.
  • Strong strategic planning, business development, account management, and consultative selling capabilities.
  • Ability to evaluate market trends, competitive dynamics, client needs, and advisor business models, then translate insights into growth opportunities and actionable sales strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, relationship-building, influence, negotiation, and executive-level selling skills.
  • Strong cross-functional partnership skills and ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Marketing, Investment Solutions, Client Experience, Legal, Compliance, and Service teams.
  • Agile and solutions-oriented, with the ability to identify and apply appropriate win-win approaches in new or complex situations.
  • Willingness to travel up to 60%.

Our Investment in You 

This role offers a base salary range of $94,000 to $125,000. The range listed represents a good-faith estimate of base salary compensation for this position and does not include incentive compensation, equity or benefits. Individual pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.  This role is eligible for an additional incentive component as part of the total rewards package.
