BenefitHub does not currently offer H-1B Sponsorship

Why This Role

BenefitHub is a fast-growing, PE-backed employee benefits and discount marketplace platform trusted by employers and brokers nationwide. We're looking for a Channel Business Development Executive to own and grow relationships with a book of insurance brokers and benefits consultants - turning warm broker relationships into new employer clients and expanding revenue across an existing account portfolio.

This is a high-autonomy, individual-contributor role for someone who thrives on relationship-driven selling. You'll work directly with broker producers to identify and close employer opportunities, and you'll partner closely with Customer Success and Account Management to grow the accounts you help bring in. If you like owning your own pipeline, building trust with brokers over time, and being measured on real revenue outcomes, this role is built for you.

What You'll Do

Grow the Broker Channel

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned national and regional broker firms and individual producers.
  • Educate brokers on BenefitHub's employee engagement, perks, voluntary benefits, and purchasing platform capabilities.
  • Run broker presentations, training sessions, pipeline reviews, and joint account-planning meetings.
  • Represent BenefitHub at broker meetings, industry events, conferences, and client presentations.

Win New Business

  • Own your targets for new client wins, eligible employees added, pipeline creation, and broker-channel revenue.
  • Lead broker-sourced opportunities from qualification through proposal, negotiation, and signed contract.
  • Coordinate demos, pricing discussions, and RFI/RFP responses, partnering with internal subject-matter experts as needed.
  • Keep your pipeline, forecasts, and close plans current and accurate in the CRM.

Grow Existing Accounts

  • Deliver at least 15% year-over-year revenue growth across your assigned book of existing broker-sourced clients.
  • Partner with Customer Success and Account Management to identify cross-sell, upsell, and platform-expansion opportunities.
  • Build relationships with both broker and employer stakeholders on your accounts, and join Executive Business Reviews when growth opportunities arise.

How Success Is Measured

You'll know you're winning in this role when you're consistently hitting:

  • New client wins and eligible-employee growth through broker-sourced opportunities
  • 15%+ year-over-year revenue growth across your existing-account portfolio
  • Healthy, accurately forecasted pipeline coverage against your targets
  • Strong broker producer engagement and opportunity generation
  • Disciplined CRM hygiene and sales-process follow-through

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years in business development, channel sales, broker sales, enterprise sales, or strategic account growth.
  • A track record of generating business through insurance brokers, benefits consultants, channel partners, or similar referral relationships.
  • Experience managing a full sales pipeline and consistently hitting new-business and growth targets.
  • Background selling employee benefits, HR technology, SaaS, employee engagement, voluntary benefits, or related B2B solutions.
  • Strong relationship-building, presentation, negotiation, and consultative-selling skills.
  • Comfort working across broker producers, employer decision-makers, and senior internal stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Ability to travel as required for the role.

Nice to Have

  • Existing relationships within national, regional employee benefits brokerage firms.
  • Experience selling to HR, Benefits, Total Rewards, or Procurement leaders.
  • A history of driving both new-logo acquisition and expansion growth in the same book of business.
  • Familiarity with employee perks, voluntary benefits, loyalty, or workplace engagement platforms.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $120,000-$140,000, plus $30,000-$40,000 in variable compensation, with uncapped upside on new business generated.

BenefitHub is proud to offer highly competitive salaries along with a very generous perks & benefits package for full-time Team Members:

  • Domestic Partner Coverage for all insurance plans

  • 401(K) retirement plan options (including employer contribution)
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Generous Paid Paternity and Maternity Leave Policies
  • 11 Holidays (Including office closed day after Thanksgiving)
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Flexible work schedules
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment
  • Remote-friendly work arrangements
