Job description

What you'll do at Jamf:

The Technology Disaster Recovery Manager leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of Jamf's business continuity management program to ensure disaster resilience. Reporting to the Director of Business Continuity, the Disaster Recovery Manager will be the single-threaded owner for day-to-day DR operations-driving orchestrated recovery execution, maintaining Jamf's technology stack runbooks, coordinating cross-technology teams, and ensuring audit-ready evidence for DR exercises and an annual DR roadmap and recovery exercise calendar. The Manager will align DR capabilities with PD&D architecture and regulatory and compliance standards while continuously improving resiliency across the organization.

What you can expect to do in this role:

  • Oversee the development of disaster recovery operations and runbooks, in partnership with Product Development & Delivery (e.g. Product Management, Software Engineering) by developing, maintaining, and continuously improving recovery documentation aligned with the enterprise DR framework.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to PD&D leaders, elevating disaster recovery operations to a strategic priority rather than a reactive process.
  • Partner with PD&D to engineer and operate DR solutions across multi-cloud environments (e.g., AWS and Azure), leveraging cloud-native patterns such as active/active, regional failover, immutable infrastructure, and serverless recovery.
  • Manage an annual DR roadmap and exercise calendar, and coordinate and facilitate test execution, evidence collection, and reporting.
  • Plan and lead functional DR exercises and identify improvement opportunities and ensuring lessons learned are embedded into recovery documentation.
  • Serve as the DR operations lead during activations, coordinating notification and escalation to the Director of Business Continuity and cross-technology execution through recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and current information on the internal business continuity website and shared drives; draft and distribute timely correspondence to DR stakeholders and cost center leaders regarding program updates, training, and regulatory changes.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with business and engineering leaders and cross-functional teams to align continuity and resilience strategies with organizational objectives and manage plan activation and coordination during incidents.
  • Ensure architectural alignment by validating DR strategies, patterns, and runbooks against PD&D architecture standards, reference architectures, and future-state infrastructure plans; participate in design reviews and define DR requirements where needed.
  • Embed regulatory and compliance controls by maintaining audit-ready evidence and traceability aligned with SOX, GDPR, DORA, NIST (e.g., 800-53), and ISO 27001/27000 requirements.
  • Monitor real-time threats, risks, and events around the world, alerting the Director of Business Continuity, CISO, and appropriate stakeholders of risks.
  • Serve as an on-call and provide 7X24 escalation and support for global incidents or crises impacting the company.
  • Manage the global emergency notification system to ensure reliable crisis alerts and compliance with annual testing requirements.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in business continuity and disaster recovery, including program ownership, DR exercise leadership, and infrastructure or application architecture in multi-cloud environments (e.g., AWS and Azure). (Required)
  • Working knowledge of operating systems, networking, cloud technology, and security tools, with an understanding of relevant security and infrastructure standards and regulations. (Required)
  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory compliance (e.g., DORA, NIST, ISO 27701/27000, ISO 22301, SOX; FedRAMP a plus). (Preferred)
  • Experience with chaos and cloud engineering, and AI-assisted testing or recovery validation. (Preferred)
  • Experience with BC/DR planning software and notification systems. (Preferred)
  • Experience in emergency management, incident management, and reporting. (Preferred)
  • Experience interfacing and communicating with executives in a crisis and continuity capacity. (Preferred)

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Influences and collaborates effectively across functional teams without direct authority, including with senior business and engineering leaders, and facilitates meetings for cross-functional audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate disaster recovery risk and strategy for both executive and technical audiences.
  • Leads multiple projects autonomously, applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a practical mindset that balances compliance and business needs.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

  • 4-year / bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, a related field, or business administration, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Relevant certification in business continuity, disaster recovery, or resilience disciplines (e.g., CBCP, CBRITP, MBCI). (Preferred)
